Zenith Unveils New Dive Watches And Skyline Chronograph
This year Zenith decided to bring something different to Watches And Wonders and instead of the expected pilot’s watches it brought some diving watches which, although not exactly a debut for the brand, have been a mirage in the collection for a few decades now.
Defy Diver Revival A3648
First released in 1969 it now arrives in a very similar iteration, with the same distinctive Defy case with moderate dimensions of 37mm wide by 15.50mm high, sapphire crystal on both sides, unidirectional diving bezel, crown at 4:30 and an impressive 600m of watertightness.
On the black dial, like the bezel, the orange details stand out, with indexes and hands filled with Super-LumiNova and a date window next to the crown.
Inside we find the Manufacture Caliber Elite 670 which runs 28,800 Vph and offers up to 50 hours of power reserve.
The watch comes attached to a five-link steel bracelet and comes with a price tag of USD 7,700.
Defy Extreme Diver
And if until yesterday the collection was silent on diving watches, in addition to the Defy Revival A3648, the new Defy Extreme also arrives, featuring a robust titanium case measuring 42.50mm by 15.50mm, unidirectional bezel, sapphire crystal on the front and back, fluted crown at 3 o’clock with opulent crown-guards and the same watertightness ratio of 600m thanks to its Helium escape valve.
The watch offers two colour variants on the textured dial, one in blue and the other in black, which features applied hour markers and skeletonized hands all filled with Super-LumiNova, a date window next to the crown and orange accents.
Inside we find the high-frequency El Primero 3620-SC automatic movement that comes with 60h of power reserve.
The watches in addition to the integrated steel bracelet include two additional straps, one in rubber and the other in fabric, which comes with a price tag of USD 11,300.
Defy Skyline Chronograph
The only one among the brand’s novelties that is not a diving watch and is an absolute debut within the Skyline adding now the chronograph complication.
On the outside, the 42mm steel case comes with the traditional 12-sided bezel, sapphire glass, screw-down crown flanked by two rectangular pushers, open case back and 100m water resistance.
The textured dial comes with three colour options, in black, blue or silver and on them we find three registers with a 60-minute counter, a 60-second register and a running seconds, a date window at 4:30, applied hour markers and hands filled with Super-LumiNova and a 1/10th seconds chronograph centre hand.
At its heart lies the El Primero 3600 automatic movement that reaches 36,000 Vph and offers up to 60 hours of power reserve.
In addition to the integrated steel bracelet, the set also includes an additional rubber strap that can be purchased for a price of USD 12,300.
