Nivada Depthmaster ‘Pac-Man’ Returns With A Bronze Twist
Remember the two versions of the Nivada Depthmaster “Pac-Man”? Well, it’s back and now it comes in a bronze case with the unmistakable “Pac-Man” numerals on the dial.
Born in 1965, the Nivada Depthmaster became a historic landmark for being the first watch to come with a 1,000m waterproof ratio, a level that still prevails in its collection today. While “Pac-Man” hour markers are much more recent, having emerged in the 21st century, although their roots date back to the 1980s, given the popularity of the Japanese arcade game that gives the watch its name.
Like its stainless steel siblings, the new watch once again wears a 39mm by 13mm cushion-shaped case that now comes in bronze with a brushed finish whose composition of 92% bronze and 8% aluminium allows it to gain a beautiful patina over time. Unidirectional black ceramic bezel with pip-lume at noon, straight drilled lugs, flat sapphire crystal, screw-down crown at 3 o’clock engraved with the brand’s logo and on the opposite side at 9 o’clock a Helium escape valve, 12-sided steel case back and 1,000m of watertightness.
On the black dial, the main highlight is the “Pac-Man” numerals that, like the Mercedes-style hands, come outlined in bronze tone and filled with Super-LumiNova.
The watch is powered by the Soprod P024 automatic movement that comes with hacking seconds, reaching 28,800 Vph and offering up to 38 hours of power reserve.
In addition to the black Tropic rubber strap visible in the photos, the brand offers a wide selection of other leather and rubber strap options.
The watch begins the pre-order period on May 29th and arrives with a price tag of €1,650.
