Audemars Piguet Reveals New [RE]Master02 In Sand Gold

Audemars Piguet has just presented the unlikely [RE]Master02, after in 2020 we saw the debut of the [RE]Master collection in a limited edition round-shaped chronograph in two tones and now a two hands watch in a sand gold asymmetrical case arrives.

The new watch is inspired by the early 1960s limited edition of just 7 pieces that came in a 27.50mm gold case with the same shape.

The new watch now comes wider, in a 41mm wide and 9.70mm tall case in the brand’s Sand Gold with sharp angles, horizontal brushed finish on the surfaces and vertical on the sides, angular sapphire crystal following the shape of the case, hexagonal crown with the brand’s signature, open case back and 30m water resistance.

The dial, like the original, is divided into 12 triangles, but here in “Blue Nuit, Nuage 50”, which we had already seen on the Royal Oak Jumbo obtained through the Physical Vapor Deposition technique, where streaks are subsequently applied at the same Sand Gold of the case that not only give life to the triangles but also work as hour markers in the same material as the two centre hands.

The ultra-thin Caliber 7129 automatic movement of just 2.80mm brings the watch to life, operating at 28,800 Vph and offering up to 52 hours of power reserve.

The 250 individually numbered pieces come attached to a blue Alligator leather strap with an 18k Sand Gold pin buckle and are priced at CHF 38,000 plus tax.

Audemars Piguet opens the new year 2024 with a trunk full of news, headed by the Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar “John Mayer” which we have already talked about in another article, and with at least fifteen more new watches which we are now making a brief look:

There are seven new references to add, all coming in an 18k pink gold cases and with a reviewed dial, featuring now a snailed pattern and improved indices.

The new additions to the collection include four watches with three hands and date, two of them in 38mm with a light blue or dark blue dial, and two others in 41mm with a dark blue or green dial. There are also three new chronographs that come with dark blue, black and green dials.

All watches come attached to an alligator leather or textured rubber strap matching the tone of the dial.

Royal Oak Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon

There are three new references that come in a 41mm wide case in different materials, and a dial with two luminescent center hands and flying tourbillon at 6 o’clock.

The main highlight here is the debut of the new alloy in precious material, called “Sand Gold” made of pure gold and where silver is replaced by Palladium. The watch comes with an openworked dial with matching bridges. Powered by Caliber 2972 automatic movement.

Then there are two more references, one that comes in an 18k rose gold case and matching accents on a grainy grey dial and the other in steel case with a fumé red dial that is also textured. Both powered by Caliber 2950.

The fumé blue dial comes with the Petite Tapisserie pattern adorned with baguette-cut diamonds hour markers and a tourbillon at 6 o’clock powered by the Caliber 2968 automatic movement.

There are two new references that come with a yellow gold case and matching dial.

The first comes in a 37mm frosted gold case, with a hand-hammered finish, featuring a fumé gold dial with three centre hands and a date window. Powered by the Caliber 5900 automatic movement.

While the second reference is a flyback chronograph, which also comes with a fumé gold dial but here with a Petite Tapisserie background, powered by Caliber 4401.

Introducing The New Audemars Piguet Royal Oak “Jonh Mayer” Perpetual Calendar LE

The most recent and surprising collaboration in the watch industry takes place between the prestigious Swiss brand Audemars Piguet and the North American musician John Mayer, passionate about watchmaking, bringing a limited edition of the Royal Oak (RO) Perpetual Calendar.

The new RO, which does not bring any innovation, stands out for its incredible and charming blue crystal dial.

This exclusive edition also marks the end of the line for the Caliber 5134, based on the previous Caliber 2120/2800 from 1978 and adapted to fit the current 41 mm case.

The textured dial is obtained through electroforming of sharp facets, which are then pressed against the white dial and finally a Blue PVD is applied. In contrast, all the text appears in white, including the previous Arabic number 31 on the date display, which used to be red, giving greater balance and symmetry to the dial.

On the outside it wears an 18k white gold case measuring 41mm in diameter and 9.50mm thick that comes with the usual tapered integrated bracelet, sapphire crystal on both sides, crown at 3 o’clock with the brand’s signature and 20m water resistance.

Inside, as already mentioned, the Caliber 5134 automatic movement operates, which comes with a 40-hour power reserve and a skeletonized rotor engraved with the brand’s “AP” and followed by its lettering, which can be seen through the exhibition case back engraved with the inscription “Limited Edition of 200 Pieces”.

The exclusive watch can be found in the brand’s official boutiques and authorized retailers for a price of CHF 150,000.

Audemars Piguet X Travis Scott Present The New Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Cactus Jack

The new Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar ‘Cactus Jack’ Limited Edition is the latest collaboration with the prestigious Swiss watch brand Audemars Piguet and North American rapper Travis Scott.

The singer, who has numerous collaborations with different clothing brands and beyond, is now delving into watches through his ‘Cactus Jack’, a record label.

The exclusive 200-piece watch, which comes dressed in a chocolate brown ceramic case, comes with a dial full of the artist’s unique personal touches.

The 41mm diameter and 9.90mm thick case features the traditional octagonal bezel secured by eight white gold screws and whose formula is repeated on the back of the case, sapphire crystal on both faces, a 6-sided crown with the signature brand and a 20m water resistance.

The open-worked sapphire dial is where everything happens, we can find four registers at 0-3-6-9 hours substantiated in a month indicator with a leap year included, a month display, a moon-phase aperture and day of week dial respectively which together with the minute chapter ring are inscribed with Travis’ typography. Applied hour markers and pencil hands are all filled with Super-LumiNova, the same one that also lights up the aforementioned registers in green. It is worth highlighting three more unique details, the weekday hand that comes in the shape of the artist’s brand logo, the phases of the moon that are replaced by the Cactus Jack smiley face with the mouth sewn shut and that glow-in-the-dark blue and the red centre seconds hand with an arrow-shaped tip.

At its heart, we find the 38-jewel Caliber 5135 automatic movement that operates at 19,800 Vph and offers up to 40 hours of power reserve. Which can be seen operating through the open rear case whose highlight is the rose gold skeletonized oscillating mass with the signature of the two brands.

The new Royal Oak comes attached to a textured brown calfskin leather strap with white stitching and a pink gold folding clasp.

The watch is an exclusive model from the brand’s boutiques that can be purchased for a price of USD 201,000 with part of the proceeds going to charities nominated by Travis Scott.

The New AP Royal Oak Jumbo Extra-Thin 16202XT Arrives in Titanium and BMG

Audemars Piguet once again presents a new Royal Oak Jumbo Extra-Thin 16202XT that comes for the first time in Titanium and Bulk Metallic Glass (BMG).

This new combination of material from which the case and bracelet of the new Royal Oak are made, although it is for the first time applied to a model from the regular collection, it had previously been tried out in a single piece with the reference 15202XT in 2021 produced for the “Only Watch” and was responsible for raising CHF 3.1 million for charity.

The new Royal Oak thus once again wears the same case with dimensions of 39mm in diameter and 8.10mm in thickness, which features a fully polished bezel that matches the connection links of the bracelet and its chamfers and also of the case, while the entire remaining surface of the set comes with a vertical brushed finish, unlike the “Only Watch” from two years ago whose surface had a sandblasted finish.

Its burgundy gradient dial is the watch’s main showcase and follows exactly the same layout as the celebratory edition 16202PT “50th Anniversary” in platinum with a green dial, featuring a sunray finish, pink gold applied hour markers and two centre hands all filled with Super-LumiNova and a non-frame date window matching the hue of the dial.

At its heart beats the In-house automatic movement Caliber 7121, which although slightly larger than the former low-frequency Caliber 2121, operates at 28,800 Vph and offers up to 52 hours of power reserve (half a day more than the previous one).

As already mentioned, the new Royal Oak Jumbo Extra-Thin reference adds to the current collection and is now available in the brand’s official boutiques and authorized retailers with the price available upon request.

Audemars Piguet Teams Up With 1017 ALYX 9SM To Introduce Five New Royal Oak

Audemars Piguet (AP) presents five new Royal Oaks (RO) in collaboration with apparel brand 1017 ALYX 9SM from talented designer Matthew Williams.

Among the five new watches, there are two self-winding ROs that comes with a case and bracelet in 18k yellow gold, there are also two RO Offshore in 18k yellow gold or white gold and a fifth that comes in a two-tone case and bracelet, which combines 18k yellow gold with stainless steel, and which will be auctioned today in Japan in favour of the NGOs Kids in Motion and Right to Play.

The new self-winding RO comes in two sizes, 37mm with the simple hour function, and 41mm in the chronograph version that adds three counters at 3-6-9 hours to the three central hands that are only perceptible by your small hands.

The minimalist effect is present on both dials, on which there is also a vertical satin finish in the same tone as the case, applied gold lettering of the watch brand at noon and the collaborated brand at 6 o’clock and the three gold central hands filled with luminescent material. Inside are powered by the Calibers 5909 with 60 hours of power reserve and the 4409 with 70 hours respectively.

The two new Offshores both come with a 42mm case, a vertical satin finish on the dial, a date window at 3 o’clock just next to the applied “AP” letters, three counters at 6-9-12 o’clock defined only by their hands and the inscription from “1017 ALYX 9SM” at 6 o’clock.

Inside runs the Caliber 4404, a flyback chronograph with 70h of power reserve.

Lastly, the two-tone RO, comes with a gold dial with a black PVD coated with the same vertical satin finish as the other models covered above with the same layout and movement as the featured 41 mm self-winding RO.

It should also be noted that the five new watches have the same octagonal-shaped case and integrated bracelet as would be expected, crown at 3 o’clock and two pushers at 2 and 4 o’clock for the chronograph versions, and sapphire glass on the front and back, with the latter revealing the oscillating mass in 21k yellow gold engraved with the two brands.

Hardly anyone in the world of horology is not also involved in the motorized world and vice versa, we even risk saying that the connections between these two worlds are very tenuous and historical and it is in this sense that today we bring you what could be the first of the perfect marriages. The luxury brands Rolls-Royce and Audemars Piguet come together to bring the world a masterpiece.

Rolls-Royce La Rose Noire Droptail, the first of four, stands as an exceptional masterpiece, unveiled with privilege and grandeur. Presented to the commissioning clients in a private event near Pebble Beach, California, it embodies the culmination of cherished experiences, significant moments, and revered art pieces. Commissioned by an international family renowned for their discerning taste, this motor car represents the epitome of connoisseurship and luxury. The family’s talent for curating their homes, a remarkable collection of automobiles, and fashion icons is considered an art form in itself by Coachbuild designers.

Drawing inspiration from the captivating allure of the Black Baccara rose, a velvety flower beloved by the family matriarch and originating from France, the La Rose Noire Droptail captures its essence. The deep pomegranate colour of the rose’s petals, which shifts from almost black to a shimmering red in direct light, serves as the core palette for this masterpiece. The shades of “True Love” and “Mystery” are evocative of the romance and intrigue that fueled the clients’ desires throughout the commissioning process.

The exterior of the motor car boasts a radiant “True Love” red, much like the transformative colours of the Black Baccara rose. The unique effect was achieved through an innovative paint process involving multiple layers (150 interactions) of clear lacquer with subtly different tones of red. The duotone theme extends to the brightwork with the “Hydroshade” finish, developed exclusively for this project. This finish, achieved through a distinctive chrome plating process, adds a reflective, dark elegance to select metal details within the interior.

The motor car offers versatility with a removable hardtop, transforming it from a lithe open-top roadster to a dramatic coupé. The roof, exclusively designed for La Rose Noire, boasts a low-slung profile and a unique electrochromic glass section that transitions to near-translucent at the touch of a button.

Inside the car, the interior is a masterpiece in itself, featuring an intricate parquetry design that symbolizes falling rose petals. Crafted from over 1,600 pieces of Black Sycamore wood veneer triangles, the design showcases meticulous craftsmanship and attention to detail. The complex pattern is an embodiment of contemporary craft, taking almost two years of careful work to perfect.

In addition, the La Rose Noire Droptail features as a “bonus” an integrated Audemars Piguet clock on its dashboard that is revealed with just a finger touch. As far as we know, this is an exclusive Royal Oak Concept, a Split-Seconds Chronograph GMT, which is presented in a robust titanium case measuring 43 mm in diameter by 17.40 mm thick, which comes with a large date aperture at noon and red counters and inner bezel that match the tone of the car’s interior panel, powered by the In-house Caliber 4407 automatic movement which offers up to 70 hours of power reserve. The watch, which is attached to a mount, comes with a rubber strap with an interchangeable system that lets you wear it on your wrist when you’re not in the car.

The owners of the motor car commissioned an exclusive vintage of Champagne de Lossy to celebrate the occasion, accompanied by a bespoke Rolls-Royce Champagne Chest. This chest, meticulously designed to match the car’s aesthetics, includes hand-blown crystal champagne flutes and special thermal champagne coolers.

In essence, the Rolls-Royce La Rose Noire Droptail is a testament to the passionate journey undertaken by the commissioning family. Their desire for unique and meaningful experiences has not only shaped their legacy but has also become an integral part of the Rolls-Royce legend.

Audemars Piguet Adds A 34mm Royal Oak White Ceramic To The Collection

Audemars Piguet introduces a new Royal Oak Selfwinding that comes in white ceramic, joining the other two existing models also in white ceramic, now having ten watches in that material in the collection.

The new Royal Oak unlike the other two white ceramic models in 41 and 44mm is fitted in a moderately sized 34mm case and comes with time and date functions only.

Like the 34mm black ceramic version, it comes with pink gold details such as the 8 screws that secure the octagonal bezel to the case, the cap crown and the case back with sapphire glass which here appears in gold, unlike the titanium open-case back of the black version.

The silvered-tone dial comes with a “Grand Tapisserie” pattern on which the rest 18k pink gold applied indexes and centre hands all filled with luminescent material. A date window at 3 o’clock and the brand lettering at 12 o’clock close the dial.

Inside, the 28-jewel automatic movement Caliber 5800 keeps running, reaching 28,800 Vph and offering up to 50 hours of power reserve. Also noteworthy is its bidirectional rotor in pink gold, which is engraved with the brand’s signature and which can be seen through the rear case.

Finally, it should be noted that, like the black version, the new AP Royal Oak White Ceramic is priced at the same CHF 47,400.
