Parmigiani Fleurier Celebrates 30 Years With The New Carillon Tourbillon
To celebrate its 30th anniversary, Parmigiani Fleurier introduces the new Carillon Tourbillon, an ultra-exclusive timepiece that combines two of traditional watchmaking’s most demanding complications: a minute repeater carillon and a tourbillon regulator. Produced as part of the brand’s Objets d’Art collection, the watch is limited to only five pieces worldwide.
The Carillon Tourbillon takes inspiration from an early 19th-century pocket watch created by Perrin Frères, preserved within the Sandoz Collection and restored by Parmigiani Fleurier in 2000. That historical influence can be seen throughout the watch, particularly in its architectural case design and emphasis on traditional hand-finishing.
White Gold Case With Classical Inspiration
Crafted in 18-carat white gold, the case measures 41.60 mm in diameter with a thickness of 12.60 mm. The fluted gadroons along the caseband reference classical columns, a recurring design signature within Parmigiani Fleurier’s creations. Despite its highly complicated construction, the watch offers 10 meters of water resistance.
One of the watch’s most distinctive visual details is the arrangement of its four visible gongs. Positioned beneath the sapphire crystal and curving around the dial, the serpentine-shaped gongs create a dramatic architectural effect while revealing part of the minute repeater mechanism.
Hand-Hammered Morning Blue Dial
The dial is crafted from hand-hammered white gold and finished in an elegant Morning Blue tone. Its textured surface interacts beautifully with the light, adding depth and character to the display.
Visible hammers positioned on the dial side further enhance the visual appeal, allowing the wearer to observe the mechanical choreography of the striking mechanism during activation.
PF950 Calibre And 12-Day Power Reserve
Inside the watch beats the manually wound PF950 calibre, a movement composed of 456 hand-assembled components. Operating at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour, the movement delivers an impressive 12-day power reserve.
The calibre relies on a sophisticated three-barrel architecture. Two superimposed barrels provide energy to the regulating organ and gear train, while a third dedicated barrel powers the striking mechanism independently, ensuring optimal performance for the minute repeater.
Four-Gong Minute Repeater Carillon
The Carillon Tourbillon features a highly complex four-gong minute repeater system capable of producing a richer and more layered acoustic sequence than traditional two-gong repeaters.
Hours are indicated through a low-pitched gong, while the minutes are sounded by a high-pitched gong. The quarter hours activate two additional gongs, creating a distinctive four-note melody.
An integrated regulating flywheel controls the energy flow during the striking sequence, ensuring a stable rhythm and consistent cadence throughout the chiming process.
Tourbillon Displayed On The Reverse Side
Rather than placing all complications on the dial side, Parmigiani Fleurier opted for a more discreet approach by positioning the tourbillon and power reserve indicator on the back of the movement.
This layout reflects the brand’s philosophy of understated mechanical sophistication while allowing the hand-finishing to become one of the movement’s main attractions. The calibre features extensive hand-applied decorations, including the maison’s signature mezzo vibrato finishing.

Completing the watch is a hand-stitched Akoya grey alligator leather strap with a double-sided construction, secured by an 18-carat white gold pin buckle.
