TV Test Pattern Tribute – Exploring the Mido Multifort TV Big Date S01E01

S01E01 is the latest member of the Mido Multifort TV Big Date collection and comes with a fun colorful textured dial that aims to recreate the old TV Test Pattern.

This limited edition of 999 pieces comes in a special collector’s box and its set, in addition to the traditional stainless steel bracelet, also includes two extra rubber straps, one in yellow and the other in turquoise.

On the outside, the watch comes with the usual square case with rounded corners that distinguishes the collection in the TV shape with dimensions of 39.20 by 40mm and which alternates between satin and polished finish, smooth bezel with a pip-lume at noon, sapphire glass, fluted crown at 3 o’clock with the brand’s signature and wide guards, open case back and 100m of watertightness.

On the dial, we can find a textured pattern in the shape of 4-sided pyramids in a large and reduced size that come painted in different shades of the graphics that filled the old TV screen when there was no signal. Hour markers and faceted hands filled with luminescent material, a big double black date window with white Arabic numerals at noon and a rehaut with a minute track and the limited edition inscription at the top.

Inside runs the Caliber 80 automatic movement based on the ETA C07.651 which is an extension of the Powermatic 80, features a Nivachron balance spring, reaching 21,600 Vph, offering 80 hours of power reserve and is decorated with Côtes de Genève.
