A Limited Edition With Historic Roots: JLC’s Master Control Classic
Jaeger-LeCoultre expands its Master Control line with a new limited-edition model that revisits the spirit of the original 1994 reference. The Master Control Classic brings back the clean geometry and understated character of the early Master Control watches, now refined with updated proportions and a modern movement.

A Subtle Evolution of a 1994 Design
Rather than producing a strict reproduction of the 1994 model, Jaeger-LeCoultre has reinterpreted the design for today’s standards. The changes begin with the stainless-steel case, which now measures 36 mm in diameter—an increase of 2 mm over the historical reference. This adjustment preserves the vintage charm while aligning the watch with contemporary expectations for wrist presence and versatility. The case retains the familiar lines of the Master Control series with polished surfaces, slim lugs, and a well-balanced profile designed for everyday wear.

Completing the exterior is a brown ostrich leather strap, chosen for its distinct texture and natural elegance, secured by a steel pin buckle that matches the case.
Refined Silver Dial with Classical Layout
The dial reflects the Master Control’s emphasis on clarity and harmony, featuring a silver sunray-brushed finish that creates subtle light variations as the watch moves. Jaeger-LeCoultre has stayed close to the original 1994 design. The time is indicated by Dauphine-style hour and minute hands, while the central seconds hand appears in a blued steel tone that adds a discreet touch of color. The hour markers take the form of elongated triangles, complemented by Arabic numerals at 12, 6, and 9 o’clock. At the 3 o’clock position, a date window maintains the visual balance of the display. Together, these elements create a restrained and practical layout that mirrors the timeless design language of the Master Control family.

Powered by the Updated Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 899
Inside the Master Control Classic is the Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 899, one of the manufacture’s longstanding automatic movements. Although the calibre was originally introduced twenty years ago, it has been continuously refined through material updates and technical enhancements. In its current form, it offers a power reserve of 70 hours and benefits from modern reliability improvements. Each movement undergoes testing both as an individual mechanism and once assembled within the case, a process that ensures accuracy in real-world wrist conditions. This focus on precision underscores the brand’s commitment to high-performance watchmaking, even in its most understated models.

Limited Edition and Pricing
The Master Control Classic is produced as a limited edition of 500 pieces. With a retail price of € 9,200, it stands as one of the most accessible models within the Master Control collection, offering collectors an appealing combination of heritage-inspired design and modern horological engineering.
