Rado Expands Captain Cook Lineup With Two New 39mm Models
Rado introduces two new additions to its Captain Cook collection, offering a refined 39 mm case size in a non-limited format for the first time. These timepieces balance vintage-inspired aesthetics with contemporary materials and functionality, continuing the evolution of a watch line that dates back to its 1962 debut.
A Versatile New Case Size
Previously seen only in a limited edition, the 39 mm stainless steel case now becomes a standard offering within the Captain Cook range. Measuring 39 mm in diameter, 45.50 mm lug-to-lug, and 12 mm in thickness, the case offers a well-balanced profile suitable for a wide range of wrists. This new size complements the existing 37 mm and 42 mm variants in the collection, creating a versatile middle ground for those seeking something understated yet substantial.

Colorways Inspired by the Ocean
The two new models bring a fresh, aquatic-themed color palette to the series. The ref. R32223203 features a gradient light-blue-to-white dial paired with a light blue high-tech ceramic bezel insert, creating a breezy, resort-ready look, while the ref. R32223213 offers a more dramatic black-to-turquoise gradient dial with a black ceramic bezel, blending sportiness with contemporary style.

Both ceramic bezels are unidirectional and feature metallized minute markers, enhancing functionality while preserving visual elegance.
Robust Construction, Dive-Ready Specs
Despite their stylish presentation, both models are equipped for real-world performance. The stainless steel case and bracelet, combined with a screw-down crown and screw-in caseback, enable an impressive 300-meter water resistance rating. Each watch is fitted with a polished beads-of-rice bracelet, a nod to the original Captain Cook design from 1962, offering comfort and vintage charm in equal measure.

Engineered for Everyday Reliability
Powering the new Captain Cook models is the Rado caliber R763, based on the ETA C07.611. This automatic movement delivers an 80-hour power reserve, aided by the use of a Nivachron hairspring for enhanced anti-magnetic properties and long-term reliability. The movement is protected by a solid caseback and operates at 21,600 vibrations per hour.
Functional and Legible
Both versions feature applied hour markers and bold hands, all treated with white Super-LumiNova that glows blue in the dark. The date window is neatly positioned at 3 o’clock, maintaining the symmetry and legibility of the dial.
Availability and Pricing
The new Rado Captain Cook 39mm models are now available from authorized retailers. Each watch is priced at € 2,550.
