Zenshin 60: Citizen’s New Take On Titanium Sport Elegance

Citizen continues to expand its titanium expertise with the new Zenshin 60 Super Titanium NK5020 Series, a four-piece collection that brings refined design updates, upgraded materials, and a stronger in-house movement. Building on the foundation laid by the NJ0180 series, this new generation maintains the original model’s aesthetic appeal while introducing distinctive enhancements aimed at improved performance and contemporary style.

Case & Construction

The NK5020 models feature a 40.50 mm case crafted from Super Titanium with Duratect surface hardening. This combination ensures exceptional wearability thanks to its hypoallergenic properties, significantly lower weight compared to stainless steel, and superior scratch resistance. The case profile remains sleek at 11.25 mm in thickness, and is finished with a blend of brushed and polished surfaces for a modern, sporty appearance.

One of the most noticeable changes in this series is the addition of a 12-sided bezel, which gives the watch a more angular and bold personality without compromising elegance. A screw-down crown at 3 o’clock complements the symmetrical silhouette. The watch is fitted with a sapphire crystal and a transparent caseback, and offers 100 metres of water resistance, suitable for everyday and light outdoor use.

Dial & Display

Each of the four dial variants showcases a smoked gradient finish combined with vertical brushing, providing texture and depth. Available in light blue, dark blue, copper, and green, the dials are cleanly executed with applied baton hour markers and sharp luminous hands for legibility in low light.

A standout feature of the NK5020 Series is the retained small seconds sub-dial at 4:30, offering a unique visual balance. What’s new, however, is the removal of the date window previously positioned at 3 o’clock in the NJ0180 series. This change gives the dial a cleaner, more symmetrical look while maintaining the unconventional charm of the small seconds display.

Movement & Performance

The heart of the Zenshin 60 Super Titanium is the In-house Caliber 8322, a modern automatic movement that delivers 60 hours of power reserve—a notable upgrade over the previous generation. Operating at 21,600 vibrations per hour (3Hz) and equipped with a hacking seconds function, the movement combines reliability with practical daily usability.

Bracelet & Wearability

Matching the case in both material and finish, the integrated Super Titanium bracelet features a single-row design and is secured with a folding clasp. This layout enhances the lightweight feel and overall coherence of the watch, maintaining a streamlined silhouette on the wrist.

Availability & Price

The Citizen Zenshin 60 Super Titanium NK5020 Series will be available starting May 2025 as part of the brand’s permanent collection.
