Zenith’s Defy Extreme Diver Gets A Topper Jewelers Exclusive
Zenith has partnered with US retailer Topper Jewelers to introduce a limited-edition version of the Defy Extreme Diver. Produced in a run of just 50 pieces, this edition builds on Zenith’s modern dive-watch platform while incorporating a distinctive dial treatment developed specifically for this collaboration.
Case and Water Resistance
The Defy Extreme Diver Topper Edition features a 42.50 mm titanium case with a thickness of 15.50 mm. Designed as a professional dive watch, it offers an impressive water-resistance rating of 600 meters. The lightweight titanium construction enhances durability while keeping overall weight manageable. A unidirectional rotating bezel, also made from titanium, is fitted with a ceramic insert filled with Super-LumiNova to ensure visibility during dives and in low-light conditions.
Dial and Legibility
The blue dial is decorated with a horizontal textured pattern inspired by the ocean. In standard lighting, the design remains subtle and functional. In darker environments, the dial reveals an additional layer of complexity: luminescent material is applied in a scattered pattern across the dial surface, complementing the luminous hands and hour markers. This creates a distinctive glow effect while maintaining strong legibility.
A no-date configuration has been selected for this edition, resulting in a balanced and uncluttered dial layout. Large applied indices and bold hands reinforce the watch’s tool-oriented character.
Movement
Inside the watch is the El Primero 3620-SC automatic movement. Operating at a high frequency of 5 Hz (36,000 vibrations per hour), the movement delivers a power reserve of approximately 60 hours. It can be viewed through the sapphire caseback and is designed to offer both precision and durability, consistent with Zenith’s high-performance standards.
Strap Options
The Defy Extreme Diver Topper Edition is supplied with three interchangeable strap options. These include a titanium bracelet, a blue rubber strap, and a fabric pass-through strap, allowing the watch to be configured for diving, daily wear, or more casual use.
