Zenith Unveils Limited Edition Defy Skyline For Paris Olympics
With the Olympic Games just around the corner, many watchmaking brands are bringing new watches to mark what is considered the biggest sporting event in the world.
Zenith is the latest brand to join this batch, releasing a limited edition of the Defy Skyline exclusive to France as Paris, its capital, hosts the games.
On the outside, like its counterparts, it has a stainless steel case measuring 41mm in diameter, 12.50mm in thickness and 47 in length that comes with a brushed finish on the surfaces and polished on the bevels, smooth 12-sided bezel, flat sapphire crystal, crown with the brand’s signature at 3 o’clock, open case back with its steel ring engraved with “Edition Paris” and individual numbering type “X/50”, and finally, 100m water resistance.
The beautiful gradient green textured dial is inspired by the oxidized copper roofs of Paris, featuring a background with the brand’s replicated logo grooved where we can find a date window next to the crown, a 1/10 second subdial at 9 o’clock with a snailed pattern, applied lipstick hour markers and pencil hands all filled with Super-LumiNova, a white minute track rehaut and finally the brand’s star set at noon followed by its lettering.
At its heart runs the high-speed Manufacture El Primero 3620 automatic movement, which operates at 36,000 Vph, offering up to 60 hours of power reserve and which comes with a skeletonized rotor in the shape of the brand’s star.
In addition to the integrated steel bracelet with a folding clasp, the set also includes a black rubber strap and bespoke packaging.
The watch is a limited edition of just 50 units that is now available exclusively at the brand’s official boutique in Paris and at authorized retailers in France, priced at €9,900.
