Zenith Returns To Its Anime Roots With The New Daisuke Jigen Edition
Zenith expands its celebrated Revival lineup with a new limited edition that bridges classic design codes with contemporary materials. The Chronomaster Revival Daisuke Jigen Edition pays tribute to the iconic Lupin the Third anime series and its character Daisuke Jigen, who was famously depicted wearing a Zenith chronograph. While it follows previous anime-inspired editions, this new release stands on its own as a modern reinterpretation of the El Primero A384’s vintage aesthetic.
A Warm, Aged Aesthetic Inspired by 1970s Anime
For this edition, Zenith reimagines the “panda-style” chronograph design seen in the original animated series. The dial departs from the crisp white of the classic A384 and instead adopts a warm beige tone, evoking the patina of an aged 1970s watch. This subtle vintage effect contrasts beautifully with the black snailed chronograph counters and the peripheral tachymeter scale, giving the watch an instantly recognizable retro character while maintaining a refined sense of depth.

Matte Titanium Case: A Modern Material Meets a Retro Design
While the aesthetic references the past, the case construction looks decisively forward. The watch features a 37 mm case crafted from dark grey matte titanium, offering a lightweight feel and a contemporary, utilitarian look. The material choice introduces a modern twist that contrasts with the dial’s vintage palette, highlighting the hybrid identity of the Revival series: historically faithful silhouettes enhanced with today’s engineering.
The Ladder Bracelet Returns
Completing the external design is the iconic Gay Frères–style ladder bracelet, integrated seamlessly into the case. A signature of early Zenith chronographs, this bracelet design is well loved by vintage enthusiasts for its airy, distinctive construction. Its presence here reinforces the Revival line’s commitment to authentic period details.

Powered by the Legendary El Primero 400
Inside the watch is the El Primero 400, the modern descendant of the original high-frequency chronograph movement that debuted in 1969. Operating at 5 Hz and offering a 50-hour power reserve, it remains one of the most historically significant and technically respected automatic chronographs in the industry. The movement is visible through the exhibition caseback, which includes a subtle outline of Daisuke Jigen as a nod to the edition’s inspiration.
