Zenith Pilot Collection Arrives Now In Blue
Zenith has just announced two new watches from the Pilot collection, exclusive to the brand’s Boutiques, which come with a blue dial.
It was last year at Watches And Wonders that the Swiss watch brand unveiled its renewed Pilot collection, which in addition to coming in a more moderate size also featured a completely redesigned dial. Among the novelties were Pilot Automatic, a watch with three centre hands and date window and the Pilot Big Date Flyback, a chronograph with a large date window, both with a black dial.
The same two watches now arrive in a blue version, maintaining their entire exterior design, dial layout and internal movement.
The watches once again embrace brushed stainless steel cases on the surfaces and polished on the bevels, with 40mm and 42.50mm diameters for the time-date and chronograph versions respectively. Featuring sapphire crystal, smooth bezel, fluted crown at 3 o’clock with the brand’s carved star, to which the chronograph version adds two rectangular pushers and 100m of water resistance.
The dials, which now come in a blue tone, maintain the same pattern of horizontal spines inspired by the fuselages of old airplanes, applied white Arabic numerals and sword hands all filled with Super-LumiNova, a center seconds hand with an arrow-shape tip, a small window date at 6 o’clock which in the chronograph version is oversized and which joins the two registers of 30-minute and running-seconds at 3 and 9 o’clock respectively.
Both watches come with an El-Primero automatic movement that reaches 36,000 Vph and offers up to 60 hours of power reserve. The Caliber 3620 powers the Pilot Automatic while the Pilot Big Date Flyback is operated by the Caliber 3652 which adds the flyback chronograph complication.
The watches come attached to a Cordura-rubber strap in blue matching the dial and another in brown calfskin leather.
As already mentioned, both watches are now available exclusively in the brand’s official boutiques, whether physical or online, and can be purchased for prices of CHF 7,500 (Pilot Automatic) and CHF 11,400 (Pilot Big Date Flyback).
