Zenith Expands Its Revival Series With The A3643
The Zenith Defy Revival A3643 expands the brand’s ongoing Defy Revival collection with a faithful reinterpretation of a historical reference dating back to 1969. That year marked a significant moment for Zenith, coinciding with the launch of the El Primero calibre. Following previous Revival models such as the A3642 and A3691, the A3643 revisits one of the earliest Defy executions, notable for its silver-toned dial.

Case and Construction
The Defy Revival A3643 is housed in a 37 mm stainless-steel case that mirrors the geometry of the original model. Its design is defined by the distinctive angular lines of the Defy family, featuring an octagonal mid-case paired with a 14-sided bezel. The proportions remain close to the vintage reference, reinforcing the tool-watch character that originally defined the Defy collection. Water resistance is rated at 300 meters.

Dial Design and Details
The silver-toned dial has been recreated using a high-precision scan of an original 1969 example. Applied hour markers feature a stepped construction, combining a satin-brushed upper surface with glossy black-lacquered recesses to create depth and contrast. Faceted hour and minute hands, along with luminous rectangular markers, ensure legibility. The central seconds hand is accented with an orange rectangular tip, while a discreet date window is positioned at 4:30, preserving the layout of the historical model.

Movement and Technical Specifications
Powering the watch is the Zenith Elite 670 automatic manufacture movement. Operating at 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour), it provides a power reserve of approximately 50 hours. Unlike the original A3643, which featured a closed case back, the modern revival is equipped with a sapphire crystal display back, revealing the movement and its openworked rotor decorated with the Zenith star.
Bracelet and Availability
The Defy Revival A3643 is fitted with a stainless-steel ladder-style bracelet, a reissue of the design originally produced by Gay Frères for Zenith in 1969. The bracelet emphasizes flexibility and lightness while maintaining period-correct aesthetics.

The Zenith Defy Revival A3643 is available through Zenith boutiques and authorized retailers, with a retail price of GBP 6,700.
