Zenith Chronomaster Solo Sport: High-Frequency Precision Without The Chronograph

Zenith is introducing a new interpretation of its high-frequency sports watch with the Chronomaster Solo Sport. Presented during Geneva Watch Days, the model retains the distinctive design language of the Chronomaster Sport while removing its signature complication: the chronograph.

The result is a time-only watch that places the El Primero 3620 movement, ceramic construction and bracelet technology at the centre of the experience. Available in four variations, the Solo Sport offers a different way to appreciate Zenith’s high-frequency mechanical architecture.

Four Ceramic Dial Variations

The Chronomaster Solo Sport is housed in a 40 mm stainless steel case, paired with a ceramic unidirectional rotating bezel. The collection comprises three date versions with black, white or brown ceramic dials, alongside a black no-date reference.

The dial layout is deliberately cleaner than that of the Chronomaster Sport, displaying hours, minutes and central seconds. Three references include a date window, while the black no-date version offers a more restrained alternative.

Despite the absence of a chronograph, the dial retains several details that connect it to Zenith’s high-frequency heritage. The “36,000 VpH” and “High Frequency” inscriptions sit beneath the Zenith star, while a subtle shark-tooth minute track recalls design elements found on vintage Zenith watches.

The ceramic dials feature a repeated 45-degree Z motif, intended to evoke the rhythm and vibration of the movement. On the white version, the pattern is combined with a sunray finish, while the black and brown dials use a polished surface. The same geometric detail appears on the counterweight of the seconds hand, creating a visual connection between the dial and the movement.

The El Primero 3620 at 36,000 VpH

Powering the Solo Sport is the El Primero 3620, a movement derived from the El Primero 3600 chronograph calibre. Operating at 5 Hz, or 36,000 vibrations per hour, it preserves the high-frequency architecture that has defined the El Primero since its introduction in 1969.

The movement is equipped with a silicon escapement and a stop-second mechanism, allowing the seconds hand to be stopped when the crown is pulled out for more precise time-setting. It also provides a power reserve of approximately 60 hours.

The calibre is visible through the sapphire crystal caseback, where the star-shaped rotor reinforces its Zenith identity. While the chronograph function is absent, the movement retains the technical characteristics that make the El Primero family distinctive.

A New Bracelet Clasp

Another important feature is the Zenclasp folding clasp, first introduced by Zenith at Watches and Wonders 2026 and now fitted as standard to the Solo Sport.

The clasp incorporates a tool-free micro-adjustment system, allowing the bracelet to be resized in 2.5mm increments, with up to 10mm of total adjustment. This makes it possible to fine-tune the fit throughout the day without requiring additional tools.

The locking mechanism is reinforced by ten ceramic balls, which form part of the clasp’s 41 components. Combined with the stainless steel bracelet, the system adds a practical element to the watch’s otherwise technically focused specification.

The Zenith Chronomaster Solo Sport is available through Zenith boutiques, the brand’s online store and authorised retailers worldwide, priced at USD 10,900 for versions with a date and USD 9,800 for the black version without a date.
