Yema’s Iconic Superman Returns With Sleek Micro-Rotor Movement
Yema has just presented a limited edition of its emblematic Superman that comes equipped with the brand’s micro-rotor movement and a dial with a retro look.
The latest element of the Skin Diver Slim collection comes in a stainless steel case with dimensions of 39mm in diameter, 12mm in thickness and 47mm lug-to-lug distance, featuring a brushed finish on the surfaces and polished on the bevels, a unidirectional bezel but this time it comes without the traditional lock-system, with a faded grey sapphire insert and pip-lume at 12 o’clock. Double-domed sapphire glass, fluted crown with the brand’s logo at 3 o’clock, screwed open case back and 300m water resistance.
The dark grey lacquered dial comes with applied trapezoidal hour markers with Arabic numerals at 3-6-9-12 o’clock in a vintage geometric font which, like the hands, are filled with Super-LumiNova C3 Grade A in a dirty beige like the patina of old watches. It also features a lollipop centre seconds hand, a white minute track, the brand’s inscriptions at noon, and the water resistance rate followed by the movement’s “Micro-Rotor” at 6 o’clock.
It is through the sapphire crystal back that we discover the automatic movement CMM.20 of micro-rotor developed in partnership with Olivier Mory, which stands out for coming with blackened bridges, presenting an accuracy of -3/+7 seconds per day, running at 28,800 Vph and offering up to 70 hours of power reserve.
The new Superman comes attached to a snakeskin steel bracelet, which has diamond-shaped links and a double-folding clasp with the brand’s signature.
It is a limited edition of just 500 pieces that is now on the market with a price of €2,249.
