Yema x Marine Nationale Present the Yema Navygraf FSM
This year the Marine Nationale (French Navy) celebrates the 50th anniversary of its Strategic Oceanic Force (FOST). Created in 1972, it is the division responsible for the submarine forces that comprise more than 4,000 sailors and that among its fleet have at least 4 ballistic missile nuclear submarines (SNLE) and 6 nuclear attack submarines (SNA).
To mark this important milestone, Yema, in collaboration with Marine Nationale, launches two editions of its Navygraf model, one in bronze and one in stainless steel.
And starting with the bronze variant, it features a case measuring 38.5mm in diameter by 11.3mm in thickness with a brushed finish, 3.0mm double domed sapphire crystal, unidirectional bronze bezel with 0-60 graduation, screw-down crown with Marine Nationale anchor insignia embossed and 300m of water resistance.
The black dial comes with printed hour markers and sticks hands in the same colour as the case all filled with Super-LumiNova green glow, the second hand in the centre comes in black with red tip and finally, the white inscriptions of the brand’s logo at 12 o’clock preceded by “Navygraf” in bronze tones and at 6 o’clock three lines of text starting with “300m” followed by “Automatique” and “Forces Sous-Marines” at smile dial style.
Inside, it is powered by the in-house Yema2000 automatic movement that runs 28,800 Vph and offers up to 42 hours of power reserve.
The watch is offered with a black Marine Nationale parachute strap with a bronze central stripe or with a black tropic strap, both options come with bronze hardware to match the watch case.
Regarding the 316L steel variant, there are some differences compared with the bronze variant, starting with the dimensions of the case, which is 39mm in diameter by 12.15mm in thickness and which also comes with a brushed finish, 2.5mm flat crystal sapphire, black sapphire unidirectional bezel and drilled lugs, everything else remains the same.
The black dial also presents a different configuration, replacing the stick hour markers of the bronze variant with different geometric shapes that include circles, rectangles and triangles that, like the hands are presented in white filled with Super-LumiNova C1, here the seconds hand are completely red and lastly it should be noted that it comes with the same arrangement of inscriptions but now in shades of grey.
Inside, it comes equipped with exactly the same In-house Caliber of the bronze version and sealed with a screw case back engraved on the outside with the FST (Forces Sous-Marines) coat of arms and on the inside with the coat of arms of the Marine Nationale as also happens with the bronze version.
The watch can be purchased with a steel bracelet, a black vintage leather strap or a black tropic strap.
As far as pricing is concerned, the bronze versions can be purchased at €1,190, while the steel versions can be purchased at €849 and €790 for the bracelet and strap options respectively.
Initially, only 400 units of each variant will be available, which began shipping at the end of October, with the next batch available in spring 2023.
