Yema Revives 60s Regatta Chronograph With Modern Flair
Yema’s “Big Eye” regatta chronograph from the 60s is back, designed for sailors and now available in two colour variants.
Just like the original the watch comes with a Tri-Compax asymmetrical three-register layout that is now driven by the Seiko VK63 hybrid movement.
The chronograph features a round stainless steel case with classic dimensions of 38.50mm wide, 12.30mm high and 46mm length, which comes with a polished and brushed finish, smooth bezel, sapphire crystal, “twisted” lugs, big crown signed flanked by two pushers, screwed solid case back and 100m water resistance.
The shades of the dial distinguish the two variants, with one in blue with red and white details and the other in white with turquoise and yellow accents.
The dials present a matte finish and three registers including a 24-hour counter with an inverted Swiss cross background at 3 o’clock, running seconds at 6 o’clock and an oversized regatta minute countdown at noon. Faceted baton hour markers and hands filled with Super-LumiNova, a minute/second rehaut and a chronograph centre seconds hand with an open-worked triangle tip.
The new Yema Yachtingraf Croisère is powered by the Meca-Quartz Seiko VK63 movement that operates at 32.768 Hz and comes with a mechanical module for the chronograph.
The watches are attached to a leather strap matching the tone of the dial with stitching and a steel pin loop or a mesh steel bracelet with a folding clasp, with a price range from €369 to €399.
