Yema Brings Five New Colors to the Rallygraf Collection
Yema has just expanded its Rallygraf Meca-Quartz collection to five new coloured variants. Launched in 1966, the Rallygraf collection has its roots in motorsport racing.
The collection now includes five new variants, which join the Michael Vaillant edition, resulting from the partnership with the famous comic book series “Pikes Peak” added in 2021.
On the outside, it still wears a stainless steel case measuring 39mm in diameter and 11mm thick (without crystal) and a lug-to-lug distance of 48mm, a fixed tachymeter bezel with an aluminium coloured insert, which we’ll talk about later, fluted crown with the brand’s signature and flanked by two pump-pushers, 2mm thick mineral glass, screw-down case back with Yema logo embossed in the centre and 100m of water resistance.
The dial comes in white (with the exception of the inverted Panda dial which comes in black). It is filled with five colours to which the different variants correspond, which can be blue, green, red (burgundy), black (Panda dial) and white (inverted Panda dial), applied to the two sub-dials at 3 and 9 o’clock, to the second’s scale outer-ring and aluminium insert bezel discussed above.
In addition to the new colours that bring the dial to life, there are also two sub-registers of 24 hours and 60 minutes at 3 and 9 o’clock respectively in trapeze-shaped inspired by the vintage race car dashboard that now appears more elongated. The return of the checkered flags at 6 o’clock is occupied by the Michel Vaillant logo from the previous edition, everything else remains the same, namely the applied hour markers and pencil hands all filled with Super-LumiNova, central seconds hand with a red tip, date window at 6 o’clock and the brand’s traditional inscriptions followed by “Rallygraf” at 12 o’clock and “France” just below the checkered flags.
At the heart of the new Yema Rallygraf, there is nothing new, continuing to come equipped with a reliable Seiko VK64 quartz movement with a mechanical module that controls the chronograph function mirrored by the smooth movement of the second hand.
The watches are offered on a rough leather strap in the colour of the respective variant or on a steel mesh bracelet.
The watches will be available from January 31, 2023, at a price of €369, slightly lower than the “Michael Vaillant” edition.
