W&W 2020 – Piaget
Piaget
Altiplano Ultimate Concept
In 2019, Piaget introduced for the first time the thinnest mechanical watch of all time, the Altiplano Ultimate Concept Watch, something that Piaget knows how to do better than any other brand. Piaget is a Swiss brand founded in 1874, which supplied the watch industry with components until 1940, the year it started producing its own watches, and became an expert in the development of ultra-thin watch movements and tourbillons.
The Altiplano returns to the market no longer as a conceptual watch, but now as a commercial watch and even though it is not a limited edition, the number of pieces produced is very small. This watch is the crowning achievement of an incredible job, the main material used to produce this watch is cobalt, only 2mm thick, this watch allows you to observe almost all components working. This watch was also designed to be a unique piece, as it allows to “customize” almost all the components of the watch, offering more than 10,000 possibilities according to the brand.
Other specifications: case diameter 41mm, an in-house manual movement Caliber 900P-UC, 40h power reserve.
