Vulcain Skindiver Nautique Meteorite Debuts With A Dial Forged In Space
The revival of vintage-inspired dive watches continues to gain momentum, and one of the most interesting interpretations comes from Vulcain with its Skindiver Nautique collection. First reintroduced in 2023, the model draws inspiration from the brand’s compact dive watches of the 1960s, a period when recreational diving was becoming increasingly popular. These early “skin-diver” watches were designed to be practical underwater instruments while remaining comfortable and wearable in everyday situations.

The latest addition to the lineup, the Skindiver Nautique Meteorite, brings a unique twist to the collection by introducing a dial crafted from meteorite material. Produced as a limited edition of just 100 pieces, the watch blends vintage dive-watch proportions with a rare and visually distinctive dial.
A Dial Made From Meteorite
At the center of the watch is a dial made from fragments of the Muonionalusta meteorite, an iron meteorite discovered in northern Sweden. When the material is cut and treated, it reveals the characteristic Widmanstätten pattern—a network of geometric crystalline structures formed over millions of years during the meteorite’s slow cooling in space.

The result is a silvery-grey dial with intricate, irregular lines, ensuring that every piece features a unique pattern. Despite its unconventional material, the dial maintains strong legibility thanks to polished silver-tone hands and applied hour markers filled with Super-LumiNova, allowing the watch to remain functional in low-light conditions.
Classic Skin-Diver Design
The meteorite dial is paired with the established design of the Skindiver Nautique. The unidirectional rotating bezel features a black ceramic insert with contrasting white markers, reinforcing the watch’s classic dive-watch aesthetic while providing durability and scratch resistance.

The 316L stainless steel case measures 38 mm in diameter and 12.20 mm in thickness, dimensions that closely follow the proportions typical of skin-diver watches from the 1960s. The case combines vertically brushed surfaces with subtle polished accents, maintaining a tool-watch appearance while remaining refined enough for daily wear.
A solid stainless steel caseback closes the watch, contributing to its 200-meter water resistance, making it suitable for swimming and recreational diving.
Reliable Automatic Movement
Powering the Skindiver Nautique Meteorite is the ETA 2824 automatic movement, a well-known Swiss automatic calibre operating at 4Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour). The movement offers a power reserve of approximately 38 hours and drives the hours, minutes, and central seconds display.

The ETA 2824 is widely appreciated for its reliability and ease of service, making it a practical choice for a sports watch designed for everyday use.
Strap Options and Availability
The Skindiver Nautique Meteorite can be paired with two different strap options, a black Tropic-style rubber strap, reinforcing the vintage dive-watch aesthetic or a stainless steel bracelet for a more versatile, everyday look. Priced at € 1,930 for the strap option and € 2,220 for the bracelet choice.

With its combination of vintage-inspired design, compact proportions, and a dial made from extraterrestrial material, the Skindiver Nautique Meteorite adds a distinctive variation to Vulcain’s growing Skindiver Nautique collection.
