Vulcain Expands Chronograph 1970’s Line With Green Dial Limited Edition
Vulcain, which is best known for its Cricket alarm watches, has been expanding its backyard over time, taking advantage of its skills in producing watches with a vintage look, featuring diving watches, three-hand dress watches and chronographs.
The new addition within the Vulcain Chronograph 1970’s line presents a bi-compax green dial with manual mechanical movement.
The collection currently has three regular variants in black and blue, both with silver markings and a black-out one, and two limited editions of 50 pieces each with a salmon dial and another with a Panda dial (white dial and black counters) to which Now joins this new limited edition of 100 pieces with a green dial and silver sub-dials.
The new addition, apart from the new colouring of the dial, does not present any other new features, featuring exactly the same layout on the outside and inside.
Thus, the new chronograph once again comes in a round stainless steel case measuring 38mm wide by 12.40mm high with a mainly brushed finish while the bezel, crown and pushers feature a polished finish, double-domed sapphire crystal, screwed case back with embossed brand’s logo and 50m water resistance.
The green dial has a sunburst effect and on it, we can find polished applied hour markers with lumed tips on the top, faceted hands also filled with luminescent material, two silver registers with an azurage pattern at 3 and 9 o’clock, with a 30-minute counter and a running seconds respectively. Tachymeter inner bezel, a chronograph centre seconds hand and the brand’s inscriptions followed by “23 Jewels” at noon and “Incabloc” at 6 o’clock.
Its heart continues to be occupied by the Sellita SW510 M BH b-Manual movement based on the Valjoux manual movement, which operates at a frequency of 4 Hz and offers up to 63 hours of power reserve.
Like its peers, it comes attached to a leather strap with stitching throughout here in shades of chestnut, and at the same price as any of the other variants which is €2,500.
