Vintage-Inspired Atwood Chronograph Debuts In Oak & Oscar x Wind Vintage Collab
Oak & Oscar has partnered with Wind Vintage to introduce a special vintage-inspired edition of the Atwood chronograph. This collaboration brings together two well-respected names in the watch industry, with Wind Vintage being founded by Eric Wind, a renowned expert in vintage timepieces. His past collaborations with Hodinkee and long-standing friendship with Oak & Oscar’s founder, Chaser Fancher, naturally led to this project.
The new Atwood chronograph takes inspiration from vintage aesthetics, featuring a gray dial with white, orange, and blue accents as a tribute to Georgetown University, where Eric Wind studied. Unlike traditional tachymeter scales, this edition incorporates a pulsometer scale, enhancing its distinct appeal. The brushed stainless steel case measures 39mm in diameter, 12.90mm in thickness, and 46mm in length, ensuring a well-balanced presence on the wrist. It is equipped with a sapphire crystal, a smooth bezel, a fluted crown positioned at 3 o’clock flanked by two pump-style pushers, an exhibition case back, and a water resistance of 50 meters.
The dial configuration follows a classic Tri-compax layout, featuring three white subdials with orange and blue details. The 30-minute counter, 12-hour register, and running seconds are positioned at 3, 6, and 9 o’clock, harmonizing with the Pulsometer inner bezel. The hour markers and blued hands are filled with luminescent material for optimal readability. Brand signatures are elegantly placed, with Oak & Oscar’s logo at noon and Wind Vintage’s at 6 o’clock. An orange chronograph central seconds hand adds a vibrant contrast to the design.
Powering this limited edition timepiece is the hand-wound Sellita AMT5100M movement. This 23-jewel flyback chronograph operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and boasts an impressive power reserve of up to 58 hours. Maintaining the same high-performance mechanics as the core Atwood collection, this movement ensures precision and reliability.
Completing the watch’s vintage-inspired look is a three-link stainless steel bracelet with a folding clasp, offering both comfort and durability. Limited to just 25 pieces, this exclusive chronograph is priced at USD 2,950, making it a highly desirable collector’s item.
