Vacheron Constantin Adds Two More Retrograde Watches to Its Collections
This is the year that Vacheron Constantin returns the Retrograde complication to its collections, as we have already mentioned the Overseas Retrograde Date here, there are two more novelties from the brand that shares the same ingenious system and that deserve to be highlighted.
Traditionnelle Tourbillon Retrograde Date Openface
This timepiece, which is based on a pink gold case measuring 41mm in diameter and 11.07mm thick, features a sapphire dial that exposes the movement, its two main complications are visible, with a retrograde date display on the upper half and a tourbillon on the lower half at 6 o’clock.
The skeletonized dial is given a guilloché finish, letting some gray details shine through, such as the minute track around the perimeter of the dial and the thin semi-circular ruler for the date. While the tourbillon stands out for the skeletonized Maltese cross attached to it. Lastly to complete the dial, applied pink gold hour markers and dauphine faceted hands.
Inside lives the In-house Caliber 2162 R31 of 242 parts that operate at 18,800 Vph and offer up to 42 hours of power reserve. As expected, the entire movement is meticulously decorated and visible through the case back’s sapphire glass.
This timepiece is attached to a grey leather strap with a pink gold clasp whose price is available on request.
Heritage Retrograde Day-Date
This timepiece, which features a beautiful salmon dial and comes with two retrograde displays, is probably our favourite, despite its dimensions.
The watch is dressed in a platinum case with a diameter of 42.5mm on the outside and comes with a smooth bezel, long lugs, a fluted crown and sapphire glass on the front and back.
Over the sunburst salmon dial rests a retrograde date display in the upper half and a retrograde day display in the lower half and both feature blue inscriptions that match the respective small hands that come in the shape of a skeletonized arrow at the tip. The dial also has applied white gold hour markers and pearls, and two central hands also in gold.
Inside it comes equipped with the 276-part In-house Caliber 2460 R31R7/3 automatic movement, which runs at 28,800 Vph and offers up to 40 hours of power reserve, which can also be seen carefully decorated by hand through the open case back.
The watch is offered on a blue leather strap and is an exclusive boutique model whose price is also only given on request.
