Union Glashütte Refreshes Averin Line With Striking Dial And Case Variants
Union Glashütte brings two new timepieces to its Averin collection that maintain the square case but have a renewed dial.
Averin, born in 2008, in addition to the time and chronograph functions, also added a complex calendar that is now left behind, focusing on a classic design with two dedicated registers and undeniable similarities to the Tag Heuer Monaco.
The new Averin wears a stainless steel case measuring 41mm by 41mm and 15.35mm thick, sapphire crystal on both sides, fluted crown at 3 o’clock with the brand’s signature and sided by two horizontal pushers and 100m water resistance.
The dial features a textured mosaic pattern, where we find two recessed square registers substantiated in a 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock and a running seconds at 9 with the hands allocated to the chronograph painted in red. A date window at 6 o’clock, a white round minute track with applied hour markers and pencil hands filled with Super-LumiNova.
As for the different variants, one comes with a blue dial and white counters, in a polished case attached to a blue perforated leather strap and red lining and then we have the black-out version with a full black dial and a black DLC-coated case attached to a black textile strap also with red lining.
Powered by the 27-jewel Caliber UNG-27.S2 automatic movement runs 28,800 Vph and offers up to 65 hours of power reserve. The rotor is decorated with Côtes de Geneva and “Union” cutouts.
They are now available for €3,300 for the blue version and €3,500 for the black-out one.
