Union Glashütte Launches New Chronograph For The 2025 Silvretta Classic

Union Glashütte celebrates its longstanding partnership with the Silvretta Classic rally with a new limited edition of its robust and refined Belisar Chronograph. The 2025 edition pays tribute to the spirit of vintage motorsport through a bold design and technical sophistication.

A Robust and Sporty Design

The watch features a stainless steel case measuring 44 mm in diameter and 15.01 mm in thickness, offering a solid and commanding presence on the wrist. The case is finished with a combination of brushed and polished surfaces, emphasizing both its sporty character and refined detailing. Sapphire crystal covers both the front and the back, ensuring scratch resistance and an uninterrupted view of the movement.

Distinctive details are integrated into the chronograph functionality. The top pusher includes a black insert with the word “ON” in silver, while the bottom pusher is inscribed with “REPEAT.” The screw-down crown bears the Union Glashütte logo, and a flush-mounted date corrector is positioned on the opposite side of the case for added symmetry and ease of use.

Dial with High-Contrast Styling

The dial stands out with a beige background that serves as a warm base for the vibrant accents. Around the edge, an orange and grey minute track is divided into four quarters, creating a dynamic look that evokes the visual identity of classic racing instruments. The sub-dials are rendered in grey with a snailed finish, providing both texture and clarity.

Black PVD-coated hands, filled with Super-LumiNova, indicate the hours and minutes, while all chronograph-related hands are executed in orange for high contrast and intuitive reading. The dial also features vintage-style Arabic numerals, a large date aperture at 6 o’clock, and the Union Glashütte logo printed in black. Just beneath it, the words “Limitierte Edition” appear in orange, underscoring the exclusivity of the model.

Tried and Trusted Mechanics

Powering the Belisar Chronograph Silvretta Classic 2025 is the calibre UNG-27.S1, an automatic chronograph movement based on the legendary Valjoux 7750. This calibre includes a silicon hairspring, which enhances resistance to magnetism and long-term stability. Operating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4Hz), it delivers a power reserve of approximately 65 hours.

Through the exhibition caseback, the movement reveals refined Glashütte decoration, including ribbing on the plates and bridges, blued screws, and a customized rotor signed with the Union Glashütte emblem.

Versatile Wearing Options

The timepiece is delivered with three interchangeable strap options to suit a range of occasions and preferences. First, a stainless steel bracelet with brushed and polished links offers a more formal and durable look. It is equipped with a folding clasp and an integrated quick-change system for tool-free swapping.

Second, a grey leather strap is included, also fitted with the quick-change system and a deployant clasp for added comfort and security. Lastly, the watch comes with a grey-and-orange NATO-style textile strap that picks up the dial colors, secured by a traditional pin buckle.

Exclusive and Limited

The Union Glashütte Belisar Chronograph Silvretta Classic 2025 is limited to just 200 individually numbered pieces. Each caseback is engraved to indicate the watch’s place in the series. This exclusive model is priced at € 3,450 and continues the brand’s tradition of linking mechanical watchmaking with the enduring charm of classic car rallies.
