Unimatic Launches The Swimming Pool Collection With New Summer-Inspired Dials
Italian watchmaker Unimatic expands its lineup with the new Swimming Pool Collection, a series of six watches split between the Modello Uno dive watch and the Modello Cinque field watch families. The collection introduces three new dial colors inspired by water and summer leisure: Crystal Blue, Infinity Mint and Acqua Laguna.
The new models retain the minimalist design language that has become synonymous with the brand while adding textured dials that mimic the reflections and movement of water under sunlight.
Three New Textured Dials
At the center of the collection are the three new shimmering dial finishes. Available in Crystal Blue, Infinity Mint and Acqua Laguna, the dials feature a textured surface designed to create dynamic reflections as light hits the watch from different angles.
The design remains intentionally clean, with no date window or additional complications interrupting the symmetry of the layout. Applied three-dimensional block-shaped hour markers filled with Super-LumiNova provide strong contrast and legibility while adding visual depth to the dial.
A printed minute track surrounds the dial, while the familiar triangle, dot and baton hour marker arrangement preserves the utilitarian character of the watches.
Both the hour and minute hands are coated with green-emitting Super-LumiNova for low-light visibility.
Modello Uno Keeps Its Professional Diving Credentials
The Modello Uno references in the collection retain the brand’s established 40 mm sandblasted stainless steel case construction. The watch features an integrated crown guard and a coin-edge unidirectional rotating bezel equipped with a minimalist insert marked only by a luminous reference pip.
Despite the playful inspiration behind the collection, the watch maintains its serious tool watch credentials with a water resistance rating of 300 meters.
The models are delivered on a navy blue TPU strap featuring a fluted texture and a quick-release system for easier strap changes.
Modello Cinque Offers a More Compact Alternative
For those preferring smaller dimensions, the collection also includes three versions of the Modello Cinque.
The field watch adopts a more compact 36 mm stainless steel case while sharing the same dial colors, luminous details and movement found in its diving sibling.
Unlike the textured TPU strap used on the Modello Uno, the Modello Cinque is paired with a smooth navy blue quick-release TPU strap.
Seiko VH31A Quartz Movement With Mechanical-Style Sweep
Powering all six references is the Seiko VH31A quartz caliber supplied by TMI, Seiko’s movement manufacturing division.
Unlike conventional quartz movements that advance the seconds hand once per second, the VH31A operates with four ticks per second, creating a smoother sweeping motion that visually resembles a mechanical movement.
The caliber delivers an accuracy rating of approximately ±15 seconds per month while offering an estimated battery life of two years, combining the convenience and precision of quartz technology with a more refined seconds-hand operation.
