Unimatic Brings Two Modello Uno With Greater Waterproofness And A Ceramic-Lumed Bezel
Unimatic presents two new limited editions of 500 pieces each of two ProDivers Modello Uno.
And if at first glance the new dive watches appear to be very similar to many other models in the collection, what we can say is that they bring some very interesting new features.
The two new Modello Uno with the references U1S-PD3 and U1S-PD5 arrive with a water resistance of 300 and 500m respectively, which means that the latter has raised the bar, largely thanks to the increase in the thickness of the sapphire glass by 0.5mm and the new crown tube.
The other big news is that both watches feature a ceramic bezel insert filled with Super-LumiNova for the first time. The same luminescent material that already illuminated the dial now glows in the dark in two different tones, making it easier to read, presenting a blue tone on the bezel scale that matches the minute hand, while the remaining two central hands and hour markers glow orange.
On the outside, the watches once again wear the traditional brushed stainless steel case measuring 40mm in diameter or 41.50mm if we want to include the width of the bezel, and 11.60mm thick for the U1S-PD3 and 12mm for the U1S-PD5. Unidirectional 120-click bezel with black ceramic insert and 60-minute diving scale, sapphire glass on the front and screwed steel case back, screw-down crown with crown guards and the previously announced water resistance.
The matte black dials come with the usual layout, of printed white minute track, geometric hour markers with double contour, three black lacquered central hands and three lines of grey text at 6 o’clock headed by the brand’s lettering, followed by “Made in Italy” and completed with water resistance capability.
Inside, both dive watches come equipped with the Sellita SW200-1 automatic movement that reaches 28,800 Vph and offers a modest 38 hours of power reserve.
Each of the watches comes with two charcoal-grey straps, namely the two-piece rubber strap and a single-piece Nato-style strap. With prices varying between €1,100 and €1,200 (excluding VAT) for the U1S-PD3 and U1S-PD5 models respectively. It should also be noted that the set can be further improved by including a three-link steel bracelet for just €100 more.
