Two New Breitling Avenger Watches Celebrate America’s 250th Birthday

To mark the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States in 2026, Breitling has unveiled two special editions from its rugged Avenger collection. Created as part of the official America250 celebrations, the commemorative release consists of the Avenger Automatic 42 America250 and the Avenger B01 Chronograph 42 Night Mission America250, both produced in highly limited numbers.

Avenger Automatic 42 America250

The first model in the collection comes in a 42 mm stainless steel case and follows the classic formula of the modern Avenger Automatic line. Designed as a versatile pilot’s watch, it combines aviation-inspired styling with robust specifications suitable for daily wear and demanding environments.

The watch features a deep blue dial paired with applied baton hour markers and a triangular marker at 12 o’clock for quick orientation. Large hands filled with Super-LumiNova ensure excellent readability in low-light conditions, while the central seconds hand receives a red arrow-shaped tip that adds a subtle patriotic accent.

A date window is positioned at 3 o’clock and integrates neatly into the dial layout. Surrounding the display is a white rehaut carrying a blue minute track that enhances legibility and creates additional contrast against the dial.

Protecting the dial is a cambered sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment on both sides. The watch is equipped with a unidirectional rotating bezel featuring a 60-minute scale and luminous marker, while water resistance reaches an impressive 300 meters.

Powering the watch is the Breitling Caliber 17 automatic movement operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offering approximately 38 hours of power reserve. The movement remains hidden behind a solid stainless steel caseback engraved with the iconic Liberty Bell.

Avenger B01 Chronograph 42 Night Mission America250

The more technical offering of the duo is the Avenger B01 Chronograph 42 Night Mission America250. It features a 42 mm black ceramic case and matching unidirectional bezel, giving the watch a stealthier and more contemporary appearance.

Its blue dial adopts a tricompax chronograph layout with a 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock, a small seconds register at 9 o’clock and a 12-hour totalizer at 6 o’clock that also incorporates the date display.

The dial uses large stencil-style Arabic numerals coated with luminous material, maintaining the collection’s emphasis on legibility. Red details appear throughout the chronograph indications, including the central chronograph seconds hand and the sub-dial hands, creating a striking contrast with the black case and blue dial.

Like the time-only version, the chronograph uses a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating and offers a substantial 300 meters of water resistance, making it considerably more capable than most traditional aviation chronographs.

Inside beats the manufacture Breitling Caliber B01 automatic chronograph movement. Certified as a chronometer by the COSC, the movement incorporates a column wheel and vertical clutch architecture, operating at 4 Hz and delivering an impressive 70-hour power reserve.

Unlike the Automatic 42, the B01 Chronograph features a sapphire display caseback that reveals the movement while showcasing special America250 engravings.

Limited Production

Production numbers reflect the exclusivity of the release. The Avenger Automatic 42 America250 is limited to 250 pieces worldwide, while the Avenger B01 Chronograph 42 Night Mission America250 will be produced in only 50 examples.

The two models share several signature elements, including their blue textile straps with calfskin lining, contrasting red stitching and folding clasps, creating a cohesive collection that blends military-inspired design with commemorative details celebrating an important milestone in American history.

Pricing

The Breitling Avenger Automatic 42 America250 is priced at USD 5,100, while the Avenger B01 Chronograph 42 Night Mission America250 carries a retail price of USD 9,700.
