Two Hands, One Signature: Gérald Genta Geneva Time Only Marrone And Grafite
Introduced in Milan during LVMH Watch Week 2026, the Gérald Genta Geneva Time Only collection expands the modern Geneva line with two new references focused purely on hours and minutes: Marrone and Grafite. These models reinterpret the design language established by last year’s Geneva Minute Repeater, translating it into a more restrained, everyday-oriented execution while preserving the visual identity associated with Gérald Genta’s later creations.

Both watches are housed in a 38mm cushion-shaped case crafted from precious metal, with a slim overall profile of just 8.15mm. The reduced diameter, compared to the 40mm Minute Repeater, reinforces the dress-oriented character of the watch and improves wearability. Externally, the case retains several signature elements of the Geneva collection, including the stepped bezel and a fluted crown topped with a distinctive funnel-shaped cap. A single shortened lug on each side sharpens the silhouette and further emphasizes the compact proportions.

The dials are made from grained brass and feature a carefully structured layout. A two-level minute track defines the design, with an outer track that follows the cushion shape of the case and an inner circular track that adds visual balance. Elongated hour markers and slim hands are applied to the dial, matching the tone of the case material. The overall presentation remains deliberately uncluttered, with space reserved only for the Gérald Genta signature printed in black beneath the 12 o’clock marker.

The Geneva Time Only Marrone is executed in 4N rose gold and paired with a warm gradient dial shifting through brown and amber tones, complemented by a brown calfskin strap. The Geneva Time Only Grafite, crafted in white gold, features a cooler silver-grey gradient dial and is delivered on a grey calfskin strap, offering a more contemporary contrast.

Powering both references is the automatic caliber GG-005P, based on the Zenith Elite architecture. The movement operates at 4 Hz and offers a power reserve of approximately 50 hours. It is visible through a sapphire crystal caseback and features a dedicated Gérald Genta oscillating weight, reinforcing the brand’s identity while maintaining a refined mechanical presentation.
The Gérald Genta Geneva Time Only Marrone and Grafite are available from this month, each priced at CHF 25,000.
Final Thoughts
The Geneva Time Only retains the same elegance introduced by the Geneva Minute Repeater a year ago, but expresses it in an even more refined manner through the simplicity of a two-hand display. This pared-back approach is reminiscent of classic dress watches from another era, a style that appears to be increasingly in vogue today. The gradient dial further elevates the overall aesthetic, while the reduction in case size to 38mm significantly improves balance and wearability. One could even argue that the design might have benefited from shrinking a little more, perhaps by an additional 2 to 4 mm. Finally, the price deserves mention: while still firmly positioned in the luxury segment, it has decreased dramatically compared to the Minute Repeater, which arrived with an undeniably extreme price tag.
