Tudor Pelagos FXD Chrono Returns In Pink For 2025 Giro d’Italia

Tudor has expanded its Pelagos FXD line with a new chronograph model to celebrate the upcoming Giro d’Italia 2025. The new Pelagos FXD Chrono Pink is a limited edition of 300 pieces, featuring distinct pink accents that nod to the legendary Maglia Rosa, the pink jersey awarded to the race leader. This release builds on the foundation laid by the original Pelagos FXD Chrono Cycling Edition, maintaining the same robust construction while introducing a new color palette.

Lightweight Carbon Composite Case

At the heart of the watch is a 43 mm matte black carbon composite case, engineered for both durability and reduced weight—key for high-intensity sports like professional cycling. The case is 13.20 mm thick, and like all FXD models, it features fixed lugs, originally designed for military diving applications. The use of carbon composite ensures a rugged yet comfortable wear, ideal for performance-oriented environments.

The watch includes two chronograph pushers, allowing for instant timing without the need for unscrewing, and a fixed 60-minute graduated bezel, also rendered in black, that enhances timing functionality in various sporting contexts.

Giro-Inspired Dial Design

The matte black dial features bold pink highlights on the chronograph subdials and a specially designed tachymeter scale along the inner flange. The scale spirals around the dial and is calibrated for average cycling speeds, enhancing its functionality for the sport. The applied hour markers are made of luminescent ceramic composite, providing strong legibility in low-light conditions, as are the Snowflake hands filled with Super-LumiNova.

Chronometer-Certified Movement

Inside the watch is the MT5813 automatic chronograph movement, based on the Breitling B01 and modified by Tudor. This COSC-certified calibre includes a silicon hairspring, a 4Hz frequency, and an impressive 70-hour power reserve. The movement offers column-wheel chronograph architecture and vertical clutch engagement for smooth operation.

Strap and Limited Edition Details

The watch comes fitted with a single-piece black fabric strap, secured by Velcro and adorned with a central pink stripe to match the dial accents. The strap is designed for flexibility and breathability, especially suitable for cycling use. The caseback is engraved with individual serial numbering and commemorative markings related to the Giro d’Italia.

Availability and Price

Limited to 300 units worldwide, the Tudor Pelagos FXD Chrono Pink is priced at € 5,550. This edition reinforces Tudor’s growing connection with the world of professional cycling and highlights the versatility of the FXD platform through a chronograph complication in a sport-focused execution.

Editorial Perspective

While the Pelagos FXD Chrono Pink is undeniably attractive and technically capable, especially with its carbon construction and performance-driven design, it shares an overwhelming resemblance to last year’s Cycling Edition. Viewed from the front, the differences are minimal—raising questions about the model’s uniqueness as a limited edition.

More critically, the 100-meter water resistance is hard to justify given the Pelagos lineage. As a model rooted in professional diving history, this specification feels underwhelming—especially when Tudor’s newly released Black Bay Chrono Carbon 25 boasts a 200-meter rating. That model, notably from a collection without the same deep-sea heritage, surpasses the FXD Chrono in this key area. For a watch that carries the Pelagos name and its reputation for rugged underwater capability, this limitation remains a significant drawback.
