Travel In Style With The New Timex Atelier GMT24 M1a Automatic
Following the debut of the Marine M1a diver, Timex Atelier returns with its second release — the GMT24 M1a Automatic, a travel-ready companion that blends bold design language with refined functionality. Priced at € 1,250 on a stainless steel bracelet and € 1,150 on a rubber strap with deployant clasp, this new model continues Giorgio Galli’s vision of positioning Timex in a more design-driven and upmarket space.

Contemporary Design and Construction
The GMT24 M1a carries forward the distinctive design cues established in the Marine M1a, including the skeletonized lugs crafted in metal-injection-molded stainless steel, and a contrasting gunmetal PVD midcase that enhances the visual depth of the watch. The blocky crown guards flank a screw-down crown, contributing to a solid 100-meter water resistance rating — a practical balance between everyday wearability and sporty durability.

A Familiar Yet Evolved Dial Design
Like the case, the GMT24 M1a’s dial follows the Marine M1a’s layout, featuring a black enamel surface with silver-applied indexes and hands filled with green luminescent material, surrounded by a brushed silver bezel. The new model introduces a bicolor 24-hour ring that works in tandem with the central orange GMT hand, allowing the wearer to track a second time zone with ease. Completing the composition is a thin minute track that, thanks to the rounded crystal, appears to drop outward — a subtle design illusion that enhances the watch’s dimensionality and sense of depth.

Engine and Performance
Through the exhibition caseback, the GMT24 M1a reveals the automatic Landeron 24 movement, a caller-style GMT caliber offering approximately 40 hours of power reserve. The movement’s functionality allows adjustment of the 24-hour hand independently, supporting tracking of a second time zone. While the caliber includes a non-functional “ghost date” position, the overall execution underscores Timex Atelier’s focus on design-led horology supported by dependable mechanical performance.

A New Direction for Timex Atelier
The Timex Atelier GMT24 M1a represents a continuation of Giorgio Galli’s mission to redefine Timex’s identity — merging advanced design techniques with premium materials and mechanical movements. It’s a watch that highlights craftsmanship, depth, and versatility, signaling that Timex’s design ambitions are now firmly set beyond the traditional boundaries of accessible watchmaking.
