Tissot Introduces The New Seastar 2000 Professional 44mm Powermatic 80
Tissot has expanded its professional dive watch lineup with five new versions of the Seastar 2000 Professional Powermatic 80. While the most visible update comes in the form of fresh dial colors, the collection also benefits from a slightly more compact case, reduced thickness, and an upgraded bracelet clasp, all while maintaining the impressive specifications that have made the model a standout in the brand’s catalog.
A More Wearable Case Without Sacrificing Capability
One of the most significant changes to the latest Seastar 2000 Professional is the case size. Tissot has reduced the diameter from 46 mm to 44 mm, while also trimming the thickness from 16.25 mm to 15.29 mm. Despite the smaller dimensions, the watch retains all of its professional diving credentials.
The stainless steel case features a combination of brushed and polished surfaces, a screw-down crown protected by integrated crown guards, and a helium escape valve positioned at 9 o’clock. A sapphire exhibition caseback allows a view of the movement inside, a feature not often found on dive watches with such extreme water-resistance ratings.
The Seastar 2000 Professional remains compliant with the ISO 6425 standard for dive watches and offers an impressive 600 meters (2,000 feet) of water resistance.
Surrounding the dial is a unidirectional rotating bezel fitted with a ceramic insert engraved with a 60-minute diving scale, providing durability and scratch resistance for underwater use.
New Color Options Join the Collection
The latest generation introduces several new dial and case combinations.
The collection is now available with deep blue, storm grey, and bright orange dials, each featuring Tissot’s signature engraved wave-pattern motif. Large applied indexes and broad hands are coated with Super-LumiNova to ensure legibility in low-light conditions.
The blue models are paired with matching blue ceramic bezel inserts, while the grey and orange versions feature contrasting black ceramic bezels. The orange dial stands out as one of the boldest additions to the Seastar family, adding a vibrant option to the collection’s traditionally conservative palette.
In addition to the stainless steel models, Tissot is also offering two black PVD-coated versions that give the professional diver a more tactical appearance.
Improved Bracelet and Strap System
Tissot has updated the bracelet with a redesigned diver’s clasp that incorporates a security lock and a push-button extension system. This allows for easier adjustment when wearing the watch over a wetsuit and enhances everyday convenience.
The Seastar 2000 Professional also continues to feature Tissot’s quick-change strap system, allowing owners to switch easily between a stainless steel bracelet and a rubber strap without the need for special tools.
Powermatic 80 Movement with Nivachron Technology
Powering the new Seastar 2000 Professional models is the well-known Powermatic 80 automatic movement. Based on the ETA architecture developed within the Swatch Group, the caliber operates at 21,600 vibrations per hour and delivers an extended power reserve of up to 80 hours.
The movement is equipped with a Nivachron balance spring, which enhances resistance to magnetic fields and contributes to improved long-term reliability and accuracy.
Visible through the transparent caseback, the Powermatic 80 continues to be one of the key features that distinguish the Seastar 2000 Professional in the highly competitive dive watch segment.

The new Tissot Seastar 2000 Professional 44mm Powermatic 80 models are now available as part of the brand’s permanent collection. The blue and orange versions fitted with a rubber strap are priced at € 975, while the storm grey model paired with a stainless steel bracelet costs € 995. Buyers interested in the black PVD-coated variants will need to spend € 1,025.
