Tissot Expands Seastar 1000 Line With GMT Complication And Fresh Styles
Finally, the many Seastar 1000 fans asking for a GMT watch for a long time will be able to rest, as Tissot has just released the first three to the collection.
The new Seastar 1000 GMT arrives in a 40mm case with a Quartz movement as expected, leaving the Powermatic version for later.
The new diving watch arrives with a 24-hour bi-directional bezel, in three variants, two in steel and one in two tones, which in addition to the time and date functions also adds the GMT complication and maintains 300m of water resistance.
The watch embraces a 40mm wide by 11.80mm tall stainless steel case that comes with an essentially brushed finish, sapphire crystal, bid-directional bezel with mineral glass insert and 24-hour scale, screw-down crown at 3 o’clock with the brand’s signature and flanked by guards, screwed solid case back with the engraved seahorse and 300m of water resistance.
On the glossy black dial applied-hour markers and pencil hands filled with Super-LumiNova, a date window at 6 o’clock, a lollipop centre seconds hand with a branded T-shaped counterweight and an extra GMT hand for a second time-zone.
As for the variants, we have the classic black that comes with a full black bezel, a red GMT hand and a black Tropic rubber strap, another that comes with a two-tone bezel in green and black, with a green GMT hand and a steel bracelet and finally the “Root Bear” that comes with a two-tone case with gold PVD, a two-tone bezel in brown and black, gilt accents and a steel bracelet matching the case.
Inside they are powered by a Quartz ETA movement and therefore with an office GMT and not travel GMT, the latter awaiting the arrival of the Powermatic GMT version.
The watches arrive at an excellent price, starting at €495 for the classic version with a rubber strap and going up to €575 for the two-tone version with a steel bracelet.
