Tissot celebrates the 20th anniversary of its most classic model ‘Le Locle’ whose name pays homage to its birthplace in Switzerland since 1853.
This celebratory edition, contrary to what would be expected, does not add to the limited editions, thus becoming part of Tissot’s regular collection.
The new watch wears the traditional round case in polished stainless steel measuring 39mm in diameter and 10mm thick, which contrasts with the brushed side surfaces, smooth bezel, sapphire glass front, fluted signed crown, open case back that comes with a central bridge to which are added several engravings which include the brand’s usual plate, and finally 30m of water resistance.
The silvery white dial comes with the latest update layout, which stands out for being decorated in the centre and on the chapter ring with the “Clous de Paris” pattern, blue applied Roman numerals and shaped leaf hands whose tone also extends to the inscriptions of the brand at noon and the model name followed by the Caliber at 6 o’clock. Closing the dial is a date window positioned next to the crown, with a white background and black Arabic numerals.
At its heart runs the iconic Powermatic 80 automatic movement, which features a Nivachron hairspring, operating at a frequency of 3 Hz and offering up to 80 hours of power reserve.
In addition to the 7-link steel bracelet with folding clasp, the set also includes a blue leather alligator strap matching the accents on the dial, which can now be purchased at the brand’s official boutiques and authorized retailers for the price of € 775.
