Timex Waterbury Heritage Chronograph Gets A Crisp Ice Blue Makeover
Timex expanded its chronograph offering with a new Ice Blue edition of the Waterbury Heritage Chronograph. Designed as an accessible racing-inspired timepiece, this model combines vintage aesthetics with practical everyday functionality, while introducing a striking new dial color that elevates the collection’s visual appeal.

Case and Overall Design
The watch features a stainless steel case paired with a fixed tachymeter bezel, reinforcing its motorsport character. The tachymeter scale is clearly printed and frames the dial with a purposeful, tool-watch presence, allowing for basic speed calculations over a known distance.

The pushers adopt the look of screw-down units, enhancing the sporty aesthetic, although the watch is rated to 50 meters (165 feet) of water resistance. This makes it suitable for daily wear and light exposure to water, but not for prolonged swimming or diving. Baton-style hour and minute hands complement applied indices with subtle chamfered detailing, contributing to a balanced and refined dial layout.
Ice Blue Sunburst Dial and Layout
The defining element of this edition is its ice blue sunburst dial. The radial brushing effect reflects light dynamically, giving the watch depth and a more premium appearance than typically expected at this price point. The matching subdials maintain a cohesive monochromatic look, reinforcing the clean and contemporary feel.

The Waterbury Heritage Chronograph follows a bicompax configuration. At 9 o’clock, a 60-minute chronograph counter records elapsed time, while at 3 o’clock, a 24-hour indicator provides additional timekeeping information. Notably, there is no dedicated running seconds subdial, which results in a cleaner and more symmetrical dial presentation.

Luminous material is applied to the hour and minute hands, as well as to the central chronograph seconds hand, which features a prominent spear-shaped tip for enhanced visibility. The applied indices themselves are not lumed, meaning nighttime legibility relies primarily on the hands.
Movement and Performance
Powering the watch is a quartz chronograph movement, chosen for its reliability and ease of maintenance. Quartz technology ensures consistent accuracy while allowing for slimmer case proportions compared to automatic chronographs. The central chronograph seconds hand operates with crisp engagement, and the 60-minute totalizer enables practical timing for everyday activities.
Bracelet and Strap Options
Timex offers the Ice Blue edition on a stainless steel H-link bracelet equipped with a butterfly clasp and a quick-release system, allowing the wearer to swap straps easily without tools. This version is priced at € 329. A second option features a brown perforated leather racing strap with a traditional pin buckle, enhancing the vintage motorsport character of the watch. This configuration is priced at € 289.
