Timex Revamps Legacy Tonneau Collection With Eco-Friendly Straps And Modern Dial
Timex expands its Legacy Tonneau collection with three new watches, including a black-out one, which now comes with sustainable straps and a redesigned dial.
The new chronographs are once again dressed in a barrel-shaped stainless steel case in the style of the 70s, which come with dimensions of 42mm in diameter, 11mm in thickness and 46mm lug-to-lug distance with hidden lugs, which come with a mainly brushed finish, mineral glass, crown at 3 o’clock with the brand’s “T” and flanked by two pushers, solid polished case back and 50m water resistance.
The dial, as already mentioned, now comes with a new and more modern arrangement, presenting the three previous registers which are now recessed and located at 6-9-12 o’clock, while the date window is now positioned next to the crown. The tachymeter inner bezel remains, but the concave chapter ring with a minute track now adds more slender baton hour markers that, like the centre hour and minute hands, come filled with luminescent material. Finally, a centre second hand that is now painted red matches the edges of the noon marker.
Regarding the different variants, there is one that comes with a black dial and eco-friendly black distressed natural leather strap, another that comes with a white dial with black registers (Panda dial) and a brown strap from the same sustainable source as the previous, and finally an all-black stealth-style variant with a black-coated steel case attached to a two-piece recycled fabric strap with leather tabs.
Inside, the watches are powered by the same quartz analog movement as their predecessors, and the three chronographs come with the same price tag of €219.
