Timex Opens A New Chapter In Swiss Horology With The Marine M1a
Timex expands its presence in the world of higher-end watchmaking with the introduction of the Timex Atelier Marine M1a, the debut model of the new Timex Atelier line. Positioned as the successor to the Giorgio Galli series, this release underscores the brand’s growing commitment to Swiss craftsmanship and refined design.
Case and Materials
The Marine M1a is housed in a 41 mm stainless-steel case featuring a skeletonized construction with an iron-plated midcase that adds both depth and visual texture. The case integrates crown guards with a hollow profile, echoing the architectural lines of the case itself while ensuring added protection for the crown. Surrounding the dial is a durable ceramic bezel, enhanced with a diving scale filled with Swiss Luminova, the same luminous material that illuminates the dial’s indices in a bright green glow after dark. A sapphire crystal with triple-layer anti-reflective coating ensures excellent legibility in various lighting conditions. Built with resilience in mind, the watch offers 200 meters of water resistance and is equipped with a screw-down crown, making it suitable for demanding environments.

Dial and Display
At the center of the watch lies a carefully executed enamel dial, complemented by lume-filled indices that provide readability even in low-light conditions. Subtle finishing touches, including a signed crown and silver-applied markers, highlight Timex’s attention to detail. Turning the watch over reveals an exhibition caseback, offering a clear view of the movement and its refined decorations.

Movement
Powering the Marine M1a is the Catena SA100 automatic movement, a Swiss-made caliber decorated with Geneva stripes and perlage. It operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and delivers a power reserve of up to 38 hours. The movement’s rotor is engraved with the words “Timex Atelier,” reinforcing the identity of this new collection.

Strap and Bracelet Options
The Marine M1a is offered with two distinct configurations. One is a black Nitrile Butadiene Rubber strap paired with a butterfly clasp, combining comfort with sporty versatility. The other is a three-link stainless steel bracelet that incorporates Timex’s self-adjustable system, an innovative mechanism first introduced in the Giorgio Galli S2Ti. This system allows wearers to size the bracelet entirely by hand, without the need for tools, making adjustments straightforward and user-friendly.

A Step Forward for Timex
With the Atelier Marine M1a, Timex demonstrates its commitment to bridging everyday accessibility with higher-grade materials and Swiss watchmaking expertise. The design strikes a balance between practicality and refinement, presenting itself as both a capable dive watch and a modern expression of the brand’s evolving identity.

The Timex Atelier Marine M1a is now available, priced at € 900 on the rubber strap and € 1,000 on the bracelet.
