Timex Marlin Jet Is The Latest Addition To The Collection

Since Giorgio Galli’s arrival at Timex as creative manager we have seen many exciting launches inspired by the brand’s roots and it is clear that the dress and affordable watch called Marlin could not be left out. 

The new iteration of the iconic Timex model is inspired by the space-age of the 60s, featuring a retro-futuristic design that is immediately evident in the stainless steel case that comes with the domed Hesalite crystal on the front and whose formula is replicated on the rear. 

Thus, the new Marlin Jet comes dressed in a 38mm wide by 11.50mm high case featuring a brushed finish, a grooved bezel printed with Marlin on the bottom and which is also embraced by the glass, crown at 3 o’clock displaying the ‘T’ of the brand, screwed case back and 50m waterproof. 

On the white-silvery concave dial, we can find a haircross pattern adorned with applied baton hour markers which, like the pencil-shaped hour and minute hands, are painted in black in the center, matching the color of the center seconds hand and the brand’s inscriptions at noon and ‘Marlin’ followed by ‘Automatic’ from the movement at 6 o’clock. Closing the dial, an underneath 24-hour counter at 9 o’clock. 

Inside it operates a Miyota automatic movement that can be observed through the open case back. 

The watch, which comes attached to a blue woven Perlon strap, can be purchased at the brand’s official boutiques and authorized retailers for a price of €289. 

Our Opinion 

We have long been fans of Timex and especially Marlin, the latter has been recommended countless times as a watch for all occasions – dress up or dress down without running the risk of breaking the budget. 

There are many options, including manual, automatic and quartz movements, in different sizes between 34 and 40mm and with different complications. 

We’re more into the fun Snoopy collection, however we have to say that the newly arrived Marlin Jet is a very good-looking watch.
