Timex Goes Green With New Bio-Ceramic Solar Adventure Watches
Timex has introduced the Traprock to its Expedition collection, blending sustainability with rugged design in a move that emphasizes the brand’s commitment to reducing its carbon footprint. These new adventure-ready field watches feature 40mm bio-ceramic cases, available in blue or green, and are designed with both aesthetics and performance in mind.
Crafted from a combination of ceramic and bio-based resin derived from beaver plants, the matte-finished cases not only provide durability but also align with eco-conscious values. The watches are equipped with mineral glass, a stainless steel caseback secured by four screws, and 30m water resistance, ensuring they are suitable for outdoor exploration. A smooth bezel and a crown bearing the Expedition collection logo add to their distinctive charm.
The textured dials are coloured to match the cases and adorned with a topographic pattern, reflecting a love for the outdoors. White Arabic numerals, luminescent pencil-style hands, and a lollipop centre seconds hand enhance readability, while the minute track along the edges ensures precision. Branding elements, including the Timex logo at noon and the Expedition collection emblem at 6 o’clock, are complemented by the word “Solar,” highlighting the watch’s eco-friendly movement.
Powered by a Japanese quartz solar movement, these watches eliminate the need for battery replacements. Once fully charged, the movement provides up to four months of power reserve, offering reliable performance for extended adventures. Adding to their sustainable design, the fabric straps are made from post-consumer recycled plastic and come in colours that match the cases, featuring a sturdy steel pin buckle for secure wear.
