Timex Expands Waterbury Line With New 39MM Heritage Chronographs
Timex has just expanded its Waterbury Heritage collection with the release of two new chronographs that follow the growing trend of more compact, wrist-friendly dimensions. The new Timex Waterbury Heritage Chronograph 39 models introduce a versatile 39mm case size, offering a refined balance of vintage charm and modern practicality that appeals to both seasoned collectors and casual watch enthusiasts.
These latest additions embrace classic chronograph aesthetics with a contemporary twist. One model features a silver Panda dial with contrasting black sub-dials, offering a sportier and more modern look. The other showcases a striking two-tone design, pairing a black dial with gold sub-dials for a retro-inspired appeal. Each version is available in two configurations: a robust stainless steel bracelet or a stylish perforated eco-leather strap, providing options for different style preferences.
Housed in a polished stainless steel case measuring 39mm in diameter and 13.50mm thick, both watches feature a fixed black tachymeter bezel, mineral glass crystal, and a fluted crown flanked by classic-style pushers. Despite their screw-down appearance, the pushers are purely aesthetic, and the watch maintains a solid 50 meters of water resistance. The case back is a solid screwed design, adding to the vintage tool-watch vibe.
The dial layouts continue the heritage theme with applied hour markers and hands—either silver-plated or gilt—coated with luminescent material for enhanced legibility. The chronograph function includes a center seconds hand, a 24-hour sub-dial at 3 o’clock, and a running seconds counter at 9 o’clock. Signature Timex branding sits below 12 o’clock, while a subtle “Waterproof” marking above 6 o’clock adds a nostalgic touch.
Powering the watches is a quartz analog movement, in line with Timex’s tradition of accessible and reliable timekeeping, though as usual, specific movement details remain undisclosed.
