Seiko continues expanding its pop-culture collaborations with a model that blends watchmaking functionality with the light-hearted spirit of a classic animated character. The new Seiko 5 Sports Pink Panther Limited Edition SRPM07 brings the famous pink feline to the compact SKX-style 38 mm platform, resulting in a colourful and collectible sports watch.

The Pink Panther: A Classic Character From Film and Animation

The Pink Panther first appeared in 1964 during the opening credits of the film The Pink Panther, directed by Blake Edwards. Although the movie itself focused on the comedic investigations of Inspector Jacques Clouseau, the animated pink feline introduced in the title sequence quickly became a cultural icon. The character went on to star in its own series of animated shorts and television episodes, becoming known for its playful, mischievous personality and its distinctive silent comedy style.

Over the decades, the Pink Panther has remained one of the most recognisable animated figures in entertainment, making it a fitting subject for a watch collaboration that embraces colour, nostalgia and fun design elements.

A Compact SKX-Inspired Case

The SRPM07 is built around the 38 mm Seiko 5 Sports SKX case, a format known for its balanced proportions and comfortable wrist presence. The stainless-steel case measures 38 mm in diameter and 44 mm from lug to lug, offering water resistance of up to 100 metres. It uses a push-pull crown positioned at 4 o’clock, a typical feature of Seiko’s sports designs.

The watch is fitted with a Hardlex crystal and a unidirectional rotating bezel featuring a 60-minute scale. These elements underline the model’s everyday practicality and give it the familiar look associated with Seiko’s SKX heritage. For this limited edition, the bezel insert adopts a distinctive pink colour and a custom font created specifically for the collaboration.

Pink-Themed Dial With Iconic Details

The dial is finished in a bright pink tone that immediately sets the theme of the watch. It features applied hour markers filled with LumiBrite and hands that also use LumiBrite to ensure readability in darker environments. The day-date display sits at 3 o’clock, consistent with the layout used throughout the Seiko 5 Sports line.

A small pink accent appears on the seconds hand, adding one more reference to the character. The dial also integrates subtle Pink Panther-inspired footprints, a nod to the classic animated sequences that made the character iconic.

Powered by the 4R36 Automatic Movement

The SRPM07 is powered by Seiko’s in-house Calibre 4R36, a reliable and widely used automatic movement that operates at 21,600 vibrations per hour. It provides a power reserve of approximately 41 hours and includes both hacking seconds and hand-winding functions.

The movement can be viewed through the pink-tinted exhibition caseback, which also displays the Pink Panther logo, further distinguishing this limited edition from the regular models in the range.

Bracelet, Additional Strap and Packaging

The watch comes on a three-link stainless-steel bracelet equipped with a folding clasp, offering a classic and versatile look. Inside the special presentation box, Seiko includes an additional nylon NATO-style strap decorated with Pink Panther footprints and the familiar “Wet Paint” phrase seen in the original animation. This extra strap provides a playful alternative for more casual wear.

Availability, Production and Pricing

The Seiko 5 Sports Pink Panther Limited Edition SRPM07 is limited to 9,999 pieces worldwide. It will be available beginning January 2026 and will have a retail price of € 460.
