The Omega Seamaster Diver 300M James Bond 60th Anniversary in Canopus Gold
We hadn’t had the opportunity to speak here yet, but alongside the launch of the Omega Seamaster Diver 300M James Bond 60th Anniversary in stainless steel variant, a Canopus Gold version was also launched, designating the 18K white gold alloy developed exclusively by the brand since 2015 and paying homage to Ian Fleming’s Goldeneye in Jamaica, the creator of secret agent James Bond.
The watch impresses above all for its sparkling bezel in shades of green and yellow provided by the diamonds in 10 shades that compose it in a clear allusion to the colours of Jamaica to which are added two other diamonds in neutral tones that mark 12 o’clock in the traditional inverted triangle geometric shape.
In addition to the coloured bezel, the new commemorative Seamaster in Conopus Gold also comes with a grey silicone dial made from white sand (silica sand), inspired by the white beaches of Jamaica, which, when subjected to an oven at high temperatures, the recrystallized silicon generates this effect, making every dial on this Seamaster unique.
It should also be noted that the applied hour markers and hands come with a black coating to highlight the dial’s beauty in different grey tones.
Everything else remains the same as the stainless steel version, namely the open case back with an animated effect, the mesh bracelet in the same material as the case and inside the automatic movement Caliber 8807 which is based on the 8806 but which comes with an 18K Sedna gold rotor and balance bridge instead of the rhodium-plated one in the steel version.
The watch is available now in the brand’s official boutiques and authorized retailers at a price of CHF 135,000 (excl. VAT).
