The New Yema Urban Traveller Arrives With New Colors And In-House Automatic Movement
After the limited edition equipped with a micro-rotor movement coloured in the same tone as the dials, Yema now announces the arrival of the new Urban Traveller now in the regular collection and equipped with an automatic movement.
The new Yema Urban Traveller, which continues to wear the same 39mm diameter, 11.40mm thick steel case excluding the domed sapphire crystal and 43.5mm lug-to-lug distance, comes with the same integrated steel bracelet with a brushed finish on the surface and polished on the bevels, the case back case, unlike the previous edition, comes now closed, returning to the traditional format in steel with Yema’s historic crest.
The textured dials receive new colours and a new pattern, with the previous green, blue and black tones now giving way to the new salmon, light blue and white tones, and with the previous horizontal stripe pattern now being replaced by a honeycomb dial. On the new dials in summer tones we can find applied baton hour markers and pencil hands all filled with Super-LumiNova and a black printed minute scale matching the discreet inscriptions of the brand’s logo at 12 o’clock and “Automatic” of the movement at 6 o’clock.
Inside it is now equipped with the In-house automatic movement Caliber Yema 2000 with no date, which reaches 28,800 Vph and offers up to 42 hours of power reserve.
The watches will be made available as usual in batches, counting the first batch with 300 units of each of the variants that can be purchased for a price of €890.
Our Opinion
We are not surprised that Yema chose to bring its Urban Traveller model in a more economical version to its regular collection at a time when the demand for this type of watch with integrated bracelets continues to be high.
We liked the new dial colours and the new pattern that fits like a glove with the inauguration of the bathing season. The option to include an automatic movement that replaces the expensive micro-rotor movement of the limited edition is a smart move of the brand, of course, the open rear case that used to display the coloured movement matching the dial is now replaced by a boring solid case back, which is perfectly understandable given the competitive price of €890, far away from the €3,598 asked for the limited edition.
In the end, we can say the new watch offers excellent value for money, with a nice design, great dial colours and an In-house movement that few competitors can boast.
