The French watchmaking brand Yema, which celebrates its 75th anniversary this year, has just announced the arrival of its new Superman in Bronze, which has as its main course its brand new Manufacture movement CMM.10.
The effort that the brand has made in recent years is notable, not only in launching new watches in different categories but also in specializing in the construction of in-house movements, reducing its dependence on suppliers, a journey that began way back with the development of the Yema2000.
The recently arrived Caliber CMM.10 is made in France with the help of several renowned watchmakers, its main strengths are its reliability, shock resistance and made to last. The automatic movement that comes with the Incabloc system, Nivarox hairspring, non-magnetic balance wheel and bidirectional rotor, presents an accuracy of -3/+5 seconds per day, operating at 28,800 Vph and offering up to 70 hours of power reserve.
Moving now to the watch, it arrives in two sizes: 39 mm by 48 mm and 41 mm by 49.50 mm (diameter and lug-to-lug distance), and a common thickness of 10.70 mm, wearing, as already announced, a brushed bronze case that contrasts with its polished bevels, a unidirectional bezel also in bronze with 60-minute diving scale and the traditional bezel-lock system, anti-reflective sapphire glass, screw-down crown with guards, screwed open case back and 300m resistance the water.
The dial also comes in two variants, in lacquered black or blue gradient, featuring the classic layout, with a minute track, printed hour markers and hands all filled with beige Super-LumiNova, a lollipop centre seconds hand, the brand’s inscriptions followed by the indication of the model at noon and on the plane opposite the water tightness and ‘Automatic’ relating to the movement and finally, at 6 o’clock in reduced letters the proud inscription ‘Manufacture Française’.
The watches come attached to a Tropical FKM rubber strap matching the tone of the dial and with a bronze pin buckle.
It is a limited edition of 1,948 units distributed between the two variants and initially arrives in the form of a Kickstarter campaign at a price of €1,199, the value of which should later increase to €1,799. The campaign starts on November 10th and the first units are expected to be delivered between April and May 2024.
