The New TAG Heuer Monaco Racing Blue Arrives In Titanium
TAG Heuer brings us the new Monaco Chronograph Racing Blue model, which is once again inspired by racing cars at a time when their different colours defined patriotism, with the British racing green, the Italian red, the German white that would later come to convert to silver and the French racing blue that gives its name to the new TAG Heuer Monaco.
The new chronograph is presented in a sandblasted Titanium square case measuring 39mm by 14.35mm, domed sapphire crystal, fluted crown at 9 o’clock characteristic of its automatic movement, two horizontal pushers at 2 and 4 o’clock, open case back engraved at the top with “Limited Edition” and at the bottom with “One of 1000” referring to the number of units produced, and finally, 100m of water resistance.
The sunburst silver dial comes with two square totalizers in Racing blue consisting of a running second at 3 o’clock and a 30-minute counter at 9, which match the dots-lume positioned just above the printed hour markers, a lime yellow chronograph centre seconds hand that also colours the centre of the 12 o’clock marker, pencil hands filled with Super-LumiNova that glow blue in the dark, unusual applied horizontal silver hour markers and a date window at 6 o’clock.
Inside, the Caliber 11 automatic movement based on the Sellita SW-300 takes over, operating at a 4Hz frequency and offering up to 40 hours of power reserve.
The watch is attached to a rally-type perforated blue calfskin leather strap and can be had for €9,300.
