The New Special Edition FWT Joins Alpina’s Alpiner Extreme Collection
Alpina strengthens its connection with mountain sports once again with the launch of the Alpiner Extreme Automatic Freeride World Tour (FWT) Special Edition, a model created to honour the brand’s long-standing partnership with the Freeride World Tour. Designed for athletes and enthusiasts who operate in demanding alpine environments, the new edition brings subtle but meaningful updates to Alpina’s compact adventure watch.
Compact Case Built for Harsh Conditions
The Special Edition is presented in the 39 × 40.50 mm version of the Alpiner Extreme case, a size chosen for comfort and practicality during high-intensity outdoor activity. The cushion-style construction retains Alpina’s signature combination of polished edges and brushed surfaces—vertical finishing on the bezel and circular brushing on the case—to deliver both visual depth and resilience.

The watch adopts a monochrome grey color scheme, a nod to the textures and tones of alpine stone. Its compact profile ensures it sits securely on the wrist and can be comfortably layered under technical outerwear, a functional advantage for cold-weather sports.
Dial Featuring Freeride World Tour Motifs
The dial introduces the most distinctive element of this release. Alpina incorporates the Freeride World Tour emblem as a repeated geometric pattern, creating a textured backdrop that reflects the identity of the sport without overwhelming the layout. This marks the first time the motif appears directly on an Alpiner Extreme dial.

Applied indices, a contrasting minute track, and a date window at 3 o’clock maintain the model’s emphasis on clarity and everyday usability.
Reliable Movement and Solid Construction
Powering the watch is the AL-525 automatic calibre, based on the proven Sellita SW200 architecture. It delivers a 38-hour power reserve and dependable performance in temperature shifts and physical impact—both common conditions in alpine environments.

A closed stainless steel caseback, engraved with the Freeride World Tour insignia, reinforces the watch’s tool-ready nature. The model is rated to 200 metres of water resistance, ensuring suitability for snow, rain, and summer adventures alike.
Strap and Ergonomics for Sports Use
The watch is paired with a black rubber strap, chosen for its flexibility, shock resistance, and durability in extreme temperatures. A deployant clasp provides secure fastening, while the rubber-coated crown improves handling with gloves or cold fingers—details clearly aimed at real-world use.

Availability and Price
Unlike previous special releases, the Alpiner Extreme Automatic Freeride World Tour Special Edition is not limited, making it accessible to both collectors and outdoor athletes. The watch is priced at € 1,845.95, aligning it with the standard Alpiner Extreme Automatic lineup.
