The New Seiko SSK GMT Will Arrive in the Summer
Information leaked on Seiko’s Italian website uncovered the new Seiko GMT that should hit the market in early summer.
From the little information available, it is known that the new Seiko GMT comes in a 42.5mm case similar to the legendary and discontinued Seiko SKX and that today it equips the Seiko 5 Sports line, featuring a 24-hour rotating bezel in two tones, hardlex crystal with cyclops over the date window, open case back and 100m water resistance.
With the new GMT, the new Caliber 4R34 automatic movement also arrives, which should be based on the existing Caliber 4R35.
Another novelty is the new Jubilee type bracelet similar to the one offered with the Seiko SKX, which now appears to come with solid links.
Initially, the new SSK will be launched in three different variants, the SSK001 with a black sunburst dial, black and grey bezel, and red GMT hand, the SSK003 with a blue sunburst dial, black and blue bezel, and a red GMT hand and finally, The SSK005 on an orange dial, with a black and grey bezel, black GMT hand and gilt accents.
The new Seiko SSK GMT should be available from July at an approximate price of €470.
