The New Rolex Oyster Perpetual 100-Year Edition Arrives In 31mm, 36mm And 41mm
To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the iconic Oyster case, Rolex has introduced a new interpretation of its most essential collection: the Oyster Perpetual, now available in 31 mm, 36 mm, and 41 mm case sizes with a refined combination of Oystersteel and 18k yellow gold accents.
This launch marks an important milestone for the Geneva manufacture, as 2026 commemorates one hundred years since the introduction of the Oyster case, a landmark innovation that redefined the concept of the waterproof wristwatch.
A Centennial Edition with Refined Gold Accents
The new Oyster Perpetual models preserve the collection’s timeless and minimalist identity while incorporating distinctive anniversary elements.

Each watch features an Oystersteel case paired with an 18k yellow gold bezel and matching screw-down crown, creating a subtle two-tone look that remains elegant and understated. Unlike Rolex’s more traditional Rolesor executions, the precious metal is used exclusively for the bezel and crown, while the bracelet remains entirely in steel. This choice helps preserve the clean and sporty aesthetic that has long defined the Oyster Perpetual line.
The result is a design that feels both modern and nostalgic, offering a refined nod to vintage Oyster references from the mid-20th century.
Slate Sunray Dial with Signature Rolex Details
One of the highlights of this anniversary edition is its slate sunray dial, which delivers a rich play of light across the surface depending on the angle.
The dial is enhanced by 18k yellow gold applied baton hour markers and matching stick hands, all treated with Chromalight luminescent material, which emits Rolex’s characteristic long-lasting blue glow in darker conditions.

Rolex has also added several exclusive details to underline the commemorative nature of this release. The Rolex coronet at 12 o’clock appears in the brand’s signature green, while the five-minute markers on the outer minute track are also accented in green. At 6 o’clock, the traditional “Swiss Made” inscription has been replaced by the words “100 Years”, while the crown itself features a special “100” engraving beneath the coronet logo.
These details give the watch a celebratory identity while preserving the clean and balanced dial layout that makes the Oyster Perpetual so recognizable.
Familiar Oyster Perpetual Architecture
From a technical standpoint, the new models remain faithful to the modern Oyster Perpetual formula.
The case continues to provide 100 metres of water resistance, thanks to Rolex’s reliable Twinlock screw-down crown system. Crafted from the brand’s corrosion-resistant 904L Oystersteel, the watch combines durability with a refined finish.

The surfaces alternate between satin-brushed and polished finishes, with the top of the case and bracelet presented in a brushed texture, while the case flanks and yellow gold bezel receive a polished treatment that enhances the contrast and sophistication of the overall design.
The watch is fitted with the classic three-link Oyster bracelet, which includes Rolex’s practical Easylink comfort extension system, allowing the wearer to extend the bracelet by 5mm for additional comfort without the need for tools.
Two In-House Movements Depending on Size
Depending on the chosen case size, Rolex equips the new Oyster Perpetual models with two different in-house automatic calibres.
The 36 mm and 41 mm versions are powered by the Calibre 3230, one of the brand’s most advanced time-only movements. This self-winding calibre features Rolex’s proprietary Chronergy escapement, a Parachrom hairspring, and delivers an impressive 70-hour power reserve, while displaying central hours, minutes, and seconds.

The 31 mm version is fitted with the Calibre 2232, another in-house automatic movement that offers the same high level of reliability and precision, along with a 55-hour power reserve.
As expected, both movements carry the Superlative Chronometer certification, ensuring precision of −2/+2 seconds per day after casing.
A Notable Evolution for the Oyster Perpetual Collection
This release is particularly noteworthy because it introduces a precious-metal-accented Oyster Perpetual in larger sizes, including 41 mm, a configuration not previously seen in the modern collection.
By restricting the gold elements to the bezel and crown while keeping the bracelet fully in steel, Rolex has created a more restrained and refined interpretation of two-tone design. The result feels both contemporary and deeply connected to the brand’s heritage.
It is a release that not only celebrates one of Rolex’s most important technical milestones, but also brings a fresh perspective to one of its most timeless collections.
