The New Oris ProPilot Date Refines A Modern Aviation Classic
Oris continues its steady transformation of its core collections, and the latest chapter comes with the refreshed ProPilot Date. While not a ground-up redesign, this new iteration sharpens the technical identity of the model and aligns it with the brand’s ongoing effort to modernise its tool-watch lineup. The result is a cleaner, more functional pilot’s watch that builds on Oris’s longstanding aviation heritage.
Refined Case Proportions and Improved Ergonomics
The new ProPilot Date retains its familiar 41 mm diameter but introduces more disciplined proportions throughout the case. The steel profile is slimmer at 11.70 mm thick, and the 49 mm lug-to-lug helps maintain a balanced wrist presence. Most of the exterior surfaces feature a satin-brushed finish for a utilitarian aesthetic, while polished case flanks introduce a subtle visual contrast.

One of the defining features of the ProPilot family—its turbine-inspired bezel—returns with a more engineered, less decorative look. Oris has reworked the angles and detailing to emphasise precision and tactility. Likewise, the oversized screw-in crown has been reshaped to offer better grip, reinforcing the watch’s readiness for real-world use, whether adjusted with gloves or bare hands. Water resistance remains a robust 100 metres.
Functional Dials With New Textures and Colour Options
For the 2025 release, Oris has rethought the dial approach. Three dial colours—black, chalk, and moss—feature a subtle grain texture that keeps reflections low and enhances the instrument-style character of the watch. Applied Arabic numerals, brushed for a slightly technical sheen, provide clear legibility at a glance.

The handset and seconds tip colours vary slightly by dial variant, adding just a touch of visual differentiation without straying from the watch’s functional roots. A raised inner dial ring and reworked minute track bring improved clarity and structure, while the date display sits neatly at 6 o’clock. All indications benefit from Super-LumiNova to ensure excellent readability in low light, as expected of an aviation-inspired model.
Dependable Automatic Movement
Inside the new ProPilot Date is the Oris calibre 733, an automatic movement based on the Sellita SW200 architecture. It offers central hours, minutes and seconds, an instantaneous date mechanism, stop-seconds functionality, and approximately 41 hours of power reserve. While not a novelty, the calibre is chosen for its reliability, easy servicing, and suitability to a watch built for practical everyday wear. The signature Oris red rotor continues to mark the brand’s mechanical identity.

Bracelet and Strap Options
The watch is available with a multi-piece stainless steel bracelet whose finishing matches the alternating textures of the case. It closes with the latest generation of Oris’s LIFT folding clasp, now featuring chamfered edges that visually connect with the case design. Alternatively, buyers can opt for a suede leather strap equipped with the brand’s integrated adjustment system for a seamless, precise fit.

Pricing and Availability
The updated Oris ProPilot Date arrives in November. Retail prices are set at CHF 2,150 for the version on the steel bracelet and CHF 1,950 for the suede leather strap.
