007 New Omega Seamaster
December 4, 2019, was a vibrant day, not only for fans of the majestic 007 films, but also for those who share a passion for watches, with the launch of the first trailer for the next 007 films “No Time To Die”, but also the launch of the next Bond watch, the new Omega Seamaster Diver 300M 007 Edition.
Aesthetically this Seamaster is stunning, perfect, elegant, robust, precise and large, probably a little big for small wrists like mine, but sometimes we need a big piece on the wrist, especially when it comes to tool watches. The story of the Seamaster comes from 1948, used by the special SAS and SBS units in the United Kingdom, it is a piece prepared to operate in unfavourable conditions and extreme environments, there would be much more to say on this subject but we will leave for another chapter and direct our focus for first impressions on this new edition of the Seamaster.
On specifications, this watch comes with a titanium case 42 mm in diameter and 13.15 mm thick, 49 mm lug to lug, METAS Master Chronometer certified, an automatic movement Caliber 8806 with 25,200 vph, 55 hours of power reserve, 300 meters of water resistance, black matte dial that extends to the aluminium bezel, with tanned lume that gives a fantastic vintage appearance, the dial has no date, the small inscriptions are also in the tan colour, the exception it is only for the Seamaster inscription in red, in the bellow we can also see a painted arrow that used to come with many military watches and their means issued as the property of the British government. The crown, as usual in this model, is engraving with the inscription “he”, which means helium release valve that offers special features for professional divers. The back case is engraved with a series of numbers as a military-style, and the last numerals are “007” and the “62” referring to the year of first 007 movies “Dr. No”. This watch comes with a titanium mesh bracelet equipped with a smart security clasp; this watch is also available with a Nato strap (if you want to save € 1,000). The price is far from the previous editions of Seamaster 007, the standard model with mesh bracelet will cost € 8,800, should be available in stores in April next year.
